국문 초록

본 연구는 교통사고 후유증으로 인한 우울증상과 주변 여성과의 관계에 어려움을 겪고 있는 중년 남성의 모래놀이치료 사례연구이다. 내담자의 일차적인 과제는 성인 남성으로서의 정체성을 획득하고 심리적으로 독립하여 집단에 적응하는 것에 목표를 두고 모래놀이치료를 적용하였다. 상담은 9개월 동안 주 1회(50분), 25회기에 걸쳐서 진행하였다. 모래놀이 치료과정에서 내담자에게 안전한 공간을 제공하여 내면의 갈등과 혼란스러움을 자유롭게 표현할 수 있도록 물리적, 심리적 환경을 구조화 하였다. 내담자는 모래놀이를 통해서 모성콤플렉스에 사로잡힌 자신의 모습을 직면해야 했으며, 부정적인 모성성을 분리하고 치료하면서 새로운 남성성으로 재생 하는 일련의 과정을 표현하였다. 이 연구는 중년 남성이 영원한 젊은이의 단계에서 고통과 죽음, 재생의 통과의례를 거치면서 개별적인 남성으로서의 정체성을 형성하고 성장해가는 과정을 제시한다.

영문 초록

This study is a case study on the sandplay therapy administered to a middle- age man who had suffered depression due to traffic accident aftereffects and had difficulty in relationship with women around him. The therapy was applied with an aim to help the client complete his primary task, which was to establish the identity as an adult man and to achieve psychological independence so that he could adapt himself to his community. The therapy was conducted over a period of nine months, with 25 weekly sessions in total (50 minutes per session). In the process of therapy, the structuring of physical and psychological environment was carried out to provide the client with a safe space where he could freely express his inner conflict and confusion. The client faced his current state as being caught up in mother complex through the sandplay therapy and expressed a process of separating himself from negative motherhood and rebirth with a new masculinity. This study presents a process in which a middle- age man passed through an initiation of suffering, death and rebirth, starting from the stage of eternal youth; established an identity as an independent man; and continued his inner growth.
