국문 초록

본 연구는 복합 외상 후 스트레스 문제를 가진 20대 여성 내담자가 경험하고 있는 역기능적 심리의 감소와 여성적 정체성의 형성에 미치는 효과성을 알아보고자 모래놀이치료를 적용하였다. 내담자는 어머니의 자살과 성폭력의 복합 외상을 경험하고 불안, 분노, 우울과 수면장애, 대 인관계의 어려움을 호소하였다. 상담은 주 1회, 48회기 진행되었으며 그중 32개의 모래상자를 만들었다. 모래놀이치료 과정을 여성 영웅의 여정을 바탕으로 1단계 분리 출발 단계, 2단계 입문과 하강 단계, 3단계 통합 단계로 살펴보았다. 모래놀이치료가 진행되는 동안 내담자는 어머니에 대한 잊었던 기억을 떠올리고, 대인관계에 잘 적응하였으며 상담 중 만난 사람과 결혼하 였다. 어머니에 대한 애도와 모성 콤플렉스를 해결하고 아니무스를 만나 통합을 이루어 현실에 적응하게 된 것으로 볼 수 있다. 본 연구를 통해 모래놀이치료가 복합 외상으로 인해 여성으로 서의 정체성에 혼란을 겪는 20대 여성이 인격이 변환되고 통합되어 여성적 정체성을 확립하는 과정에 긍정적 영향을 미치는 결과를 확인할 수 있었다.

영문 초록

This case study is on the sandplay therapy that was carried out to a woman in her 20s who suffered complex posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) causing extreme changes in mood (anxiety, rage, depression and others); and had difficulties making interpersonal relationships and entering deep sleep stages. For the case study, sandplay therapy counseling was conducted with an aim at following the healing process of the client through which she was separated from her mother complex and her female identity was newly established in a way that she could regain her normal life. The counseling consisted of a total of 48 weekly sessions and the client built 32 sand trays in total. The study reviewed the overall process of the sandplay therapy based on a heroine s journey model, in all three stages: first, the separation/departure stage, second, initiation/descent stage, and third, the integration stage. During the sandplay therapy progressed, the client retrieved her lost memory about her mother, adapted herself to interpersonal relationships and married a man that she met during the therapy period. It is apparent that she completed the mourning process for her deceased mother and overcame her mother complex and succeeded to adjust herself in reality after meeting her animus and reaching the integration stage. Thus, this case study presents the growth process through which a woman in her 20s who had experienced confusion in her female identity due to complex accomplished changes and integration in personality, proceeding to newly establish her female identity.
