설립유형, 경력에 따른 유치원 교사 전문성의 잠재평균분석

국문 초록

본 연구는 유치원 교사의 전문성을 교사의 능력이라는 관점에서 접근하여 전문성을 훌륭한 교사가 가지고 있는 지식과 기술 및 자질 등의 총합으로 정의하고, 선행연구 고찰을 통해 전 문성의 구성요인을 도출하였다. 그리고 교사의 전문성이 개인 및 환경 변인에 따라 지속적으 로 변화한다는 점에서 설립유형과 경력에 따른 집단 간 차이를 규명하였다. 이를 위해 측정 오차를 통제하여 더 정확한 집단 차이를 규명할 수 있는 잠재평균분석을 활용하였다. 분석결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 유치원 교사 전문성은 지식, 수행, 태도 세 가지 하위요인으 로 구성되며, 각 요인은 서로 간에 밀접한 관계를 가지는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 잠재평균분 석 결과 설립유형 간 비교에서 공립유치원에 재직하는 교사가 사립유치원 교사에 비해 지식, 수행, 태도 면에서 모두 유의하게 높은 것으로 나타났으며, Cohen의 효과크기를 고려하였을 때 지식은 큰 정도, 수행 및 태도는 미미한 효과크기가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 경력에 따른 잠재평균분석 결과 경력 5년 이상의 유치원 교사가 5년 미만의 교사보다 하위 요인에서 평균값이 통계적으로 유의하게 높았으며, 효과크기를 고려하였을 때 세 하위 요인의 차이는 중간 정도 이상으로 나타났다. 본 연구결과에 터하여 유치원 교사 전문성 제고를 위한 정책 적 제언을 도출하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to examine the differences of the kindergarten teachers professionalism for types of kindergarten, duration of the career. For this, the study identified the professionalism of kindergarten teachers from the viewpoint of teacher s ability and defined professionalism as the total of knowledge, skill and character. Latent means analysis was used to identify more accurate group differences by controlling measurement errors. The survey was conducted on 300 kindergarten teachers working in Seoul, Gyeonggi and Incheon areas. The results of the study were as follows. First, kindergarten teacher professionalism consisted of three sub-factors of knowledge, skill, and attitude, and each factor had a close relationship with each other. Second, the results of the latent means analysis showed that the public kindergarten teachers professionalism was significantly higher than that of teachers who were in private kindergarten. When Cohen s effect size was taken into consideration, the effect size of knowledge had a large degree, while skill and attitude had a small effect size. Third, the latent means analysis by duration of the career showed that the mean value of teachers with more than 5 years of career was significantly higher than that of teachers with less than 5 years of career in every sub-factor. The effect size of the three sub-factors was above the medium level. Based on the results of the research, policy suggestions for enhancing the professionalism of kindergarten teachers were suggested.
