미술치료사의 부모상담 경험에 관한 현상학적 연구

국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 미술치료사들이 부모상담에서 어떠한 경험을 하는지, 그 경험의 의미는 무엇인지를 밝혀 본질을 이해하는데 있다. 이를 위해 미술치료에서 부모상담을 경험해 본 미술치료사 7명을 대상으로 2016년 3월부터 2016년 6월까지 최소 1~3회의 개인 면담을 통해 자료를 수집하였다. 수집한 자료를 활용하여 부모상담과정에서 내담자 부모와 치료사 사이에 일어나는 다양한 양상과 경험의 의미를 Moustakas의 현상학적 연구 방법을 통해 분석하였다. 연구 결과 미술치료사의 부모상담 경험에 관해 35개의 의미단위, 13개의 주제와 5개의 본질적 주제를 도출하였다. 연구에서 드러난 본질적 주제는 <부모와의 첫 만남>, <부모상담 들어서기>, <부모상담에서의 고비>, <부모상담의 효과>, <치료사로서의 성장계기>로 요약되었다. 부모상담 경험에 관한 본질과 그 의미는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 미술치료사들은 부모상담에 대해 어려움과 혼란을 경험하기도 하고, 부모의 비수용적인 태도와 치료목표에 대한 의견차이 등으로 부정적인 정서를 경험하였다. 둘째, 미술치료사들은 부모상담이 진행되면서 치료사와 부모의 인식이 변화되고 상호협력적 관계로 발전함으로써 치료에 긍정적인 영향을 미친다는 것을 경험하였다. 셋째, 미술치료사들의 부모상담의 경험은 자신의 역량을 강화하고, 치료사로서 성장하는 좋은 계기로 작용하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to examine and understand what art therapists experienced during their parent counseling and the significance of their experiences. For this purpose, the study selected seven participating art therapists who proceeded with parent counseling in art therapy and collected data from March 2016 until June 2016 through at least one to three individual interviews with each therapist. To understand the significance of this counseling experience, the research applies Moustakas’ phenomenological study method to analyze the data. Results showed 35 units of significance, 13 high themes, and five essential themes. The essential themes were described as “first meeting with parents”, “entering parent counseling,” “the crisis in parent counseling,” “the effects of parent counseling,” and “the growth as a therapist”. The results on the nature and significance of the experience were as follows. First, participating therapists experienced confusion due to the absence of specific structuralization during their parent counseling and negative feelings from uncooperative relationships. Second, parents with a cooperative attitude developed cooperative relationships with the therapists and experienced good therapy convalescence and consistency. Third, the experience of parent counseling of art therapists strengthened their competence and served as a good opportunity to grow as a therapist.
