국문 초록

최근 여러 나라에서는 사회정서학습(SEL)이 인성교육을 위한 실천적인 대안으로서 떠오르면서 이와 관련한 프로그램을 개 발, 투입, 타당화하려는 시도가 확산되고 있다. 이에 본 연구는 국내에서 진행되어 온 사회정서학습에 관한 논의를 분석하고 다문화교육의 맥락에서 미술교육적 함의를 도출하는 데 목적으로 두었다. 분석의 범위는 국내에서 사회정서학습이 논의되기 시작한 2004년 이후부터 2017년까지 발표된 학술지 논문 38편을 대상으로 하였다. 본 연구의 주요 내용은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 국내외 인성교육의 동향 안에서 사회정서학습의 법제적 기반을 고찰하여 SEL이 가지는 사회적 의미와 시대적 필요성 을 고찰하였다. 둘째, 국내 사회정서학습 관련 문헌의 내용 분석을 통하여 우리나라에서 투입된 SEL 프로그램의 타당성 및 효과성을 메타분석하는 한편, 교과적 관점에서 프로그램을 개발, 적용한 문헌들을 별도로 분류, 분석하여 교과와 SEL의 연계 방식을 분석하였다. 셋째, 예술교과와 관련한 문헌에 대한 내용 분석을 통하여 다문화미술교육의 실천 방안으로서 사회 정서학습이 가지는 의미를 논의하였다. 본 연구는 지난 14년간의 국내의 선행 연구에서 제시된 사회정서학습의 가능성과 타당성을 토대로 향후 다문화미술교육과 연계한 사회정서학습에 관한 담론과 실천을 확산할 수 있는 기초를 제공한다는 점 에서 의의를 가진다.

영문 초록

This study aims at investigating the implications of SEL for art education from the perspective of multicultural education by analyzing the literatures related to SEL in Korea. The total number of 47 articles in the period of 2004∼2017 are collected. and ‘사회정서학습’, ‘SEL', 'Social Emotional Learning' are used as the keywords in order to search for related articles on various databases such as the National Assembly Library, Riss, DBPIA, KISS, Kyobo Scholar, and Newnonmoon. The main contents of this study are threefold. First, the legislative ground of SEL is discussed in association with the trend of character education shedding light on the societal meanings of SEL. Second, the meta-analysis of SEL literatures is conducted in order to examine the validity and efficiency of SEL within the context of Korea. In addition, the articles that specifically deal with the SEL programs integrated into school subjects are analyzed so as to figure out how SEL can be linked to different subjects. Third, the meaning of SEL for multicultural art education is explored in an attempt to lay the ground for further discourses and experiments of SEL in art education.
