미술대학의 인문교양교육 강화 교과과정의 연구

국문 초록

매일경제신문(2011. 12. 12)에 따르면, 현재 한국의 청년 5명 중 1명이 ‘실업자’라고 밝힌다. 2011년 1월부터 10월까지 공식 청년실업자는 324,000명이지만, 실업자를 만 15-29세에 해당하는 구직단념자, 취업준비자, 취업 무관심자, 시험준비생등 실업상태에 있는 청년 모두라고 보면 실제 실업자는 1,101,000명에 달한다. 명확한 실업자 현황 분석과 청년 고용대책 수립계획의 책임과 의무는 정부에 있지만, 수많은 대학졸업생들을 고려할 때 대학의 고용과 취업을 위한 대책 마련과 대학교육의 방향 진단의 책임이 요구된다. 아시아 국가의 대학들이 대학교육의 질 향상을 위한 많은 노력을 기울이고 있다(New York Times, 2011, 10. 31). 이들 대학들은 준비된 유능한 실력을 갖춘 노동력(대학졸업자)을 배출하는 것을 국가경제발전을 위한 대학의 책임과 의무로 생각하며 노동시장에서 필요로 하고 요구하는 유능한 대학졸업자들을 배출하기 위해 대학교육의 질을 높이는 것이 가장 중요하다고 주장한다.

영문 초록

This study is a suggestion of liberal arts and humanity education enhancing art university curricular, examining those of American art schools. In changing art world and society, the graduates of art school are need to practice their career as artists or to find their own fields in job market. Yet, art undergraduates are not ready for their coursework of higher education and are not aware of their objectives of art professionals, as well as their career. Art universities as the institutions of higher education obligate to the needs and ask of art students and the society and should be responsible to make innovative and practical curricular for art students and art community. This study analyzes the symptom of art university and the recognitions of art students, art school graduates and professors with the results of numerous researches and surveys in Korea and the States, and finally introduces the curricular of interdisciplinary and cross-disciplinary education between the arts and humanity/liberal arts for art students as a measure. These curricular may be able to enhance and enlarge the art field for the social function of art and that art schools can give their art students more diverse choices and directions to find their unique creativity and take leading roles in their careers and own fields.
