미술치료학전공 석사학위과정생이 수퍼비전 교과에서 겪는 부정적인 경험에 대한 현상학적 연구

국문 초록

본 연구는 미술치료학전공 석사학위과정에서 교과목으로 개설된 수퍼비전을 수강한 수강생의 부정적인 경험 을 중심으로 그 의미와 본질을 알아보고자 Max van Manen의 해석학적 현상학적 방법을 적용하였다. 본 연구 의 참여자는 12명이며 2015년 11월부터 2016년 11월까지 면담에 의해 자료수집이 이루어졌다. 수집된 자료를 바탕으로 8개의 대주제와 29개의 하위주제를 도출하였으며, 연구의 결론은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 수강생들은 수퍼 비전에 대한 적절한 안내를 받지 못하여 교과목 미술치료 수퍼비전에 대한 과도한 기대를 갖게 되고 이는 실 망으로 연결 되었다. 둘째, 수강생들은 동료 수강자들 앞에서 자신이 드러날 때 불편감과 거부감을 느끼며, 이 는 수퍼비전 내에서 수련감독자의 언어적인 피드백 뿐 아니라 수퍼비전 중 실시하는 미술작업 과정과 완성된 작품을 통해서도 경험한다. 셋째, 수강생들은 수련감독자가 다른 교과의 교수자이거나 지도교수인 이중관계에 있으며, 동시에 수련감독자에 대해 선택권이 없고 수퍼비전의 내용이 학점으로 평가되는 교과목의 특성을 함께 경험한다. 이러한 교과목 미술치료 수퍼비전이 지닌 구조적인 틀에서 수강생들은 소통의 어려움을 겪는다. 넷 째, 수강생의 부정적인 경험은 수강생에게 부정적으로 남기도 하지만, 다양한 의미로 전환되어 교과목 미술치 료 수퍼비전에서 답을 찾는 것은 자신의 몫이라는 것을 깨닫게 된다.

영문 초록

This study aimed to understand the essence and the meaning of the negative experiences of the supervisees in the supervision classes in an art therapy master’s program. To vividly display the essence of negative experiences, the hermeneutic phenomenological methodology of van Manen was adopted and applied. Interviews were conducted with 12 participants between November 2015 and November 2016. Based on the interview data, eight main themes and 29 sub-themes were developed. The following conclusions were drawn from the hermeneutic phenomenological reflection. First, as the supervisees had no preliminary understanding of what supervision was, they had tended to have excessive expectations about the supervision classes, and this led to disappointment. Second, the supervisees felt very uncomfortable and uneasy when disclosing themselves in front of classmates, listening to the verbal feedbacks from supervisors, and working on the response art in the supervision classes. Third, the supervisees realized they were in a dual relationship with their professor-supervisor whom they could not replace, and the supervision was more of anacademic class in which they had to be evaluated. Fourth, some supervisees realized that their negative experiences and feelings from the program supervision classes became sublimated as time went by. Ultimately, these supervisees witnessed their negative experiences gradually changed into a new understanding of themselves.
