섬유매체를 활용한 미술치료가 장애자녀를 둔 어머니의 불안 및 우울에 미치는 효과

국문 초록

본 연구는 장애자녀를 둔 어머니(이하, 장애모)를 대상으로 섬유매체를 활용한 미술치료 프로그램을 실시하 여 장애모의 불안과 우울 감소에 어떠한 효과가 있는지 살펴보는 데 목적이 있다. 연구대상은 서울 소재 A장 애인 복지관을 이용 중인 장애모 2명이며, 주 1회 150분씩 총 12회기 미술치료를 실시하였다. 프로그램은 양모 와 펠트를 중심으로 구성하였으며, 긴장이완, 정서표현, 긍정적 정서로의 전환, 정서유지의 4단계 목표를 설정하 였다. 연구 효과 검증을 위해 상태불안검사(STAI), 우울검사(BDI)의 변화를 측정하였으며, 치료과정에서 녹음한 활동내용과 작품에 대한 내용분석 결과를 제시하였다. 이를 통한 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 미술치료를 통 해 장애모의 불안이 감소되었다. 둘째, 미술치료를 통해 장애모의 우울이 감소되었다. 회기가 진행되어 감에 따 라 억압해 왔던 감정을 표출하고 정서적으로 안정되어 가면서 불안과 우울 행동이 감소된 것으로 보인다. 따라 서 섬유매체를 활용한 미술치료프로그램이 장애모의 불안과 우울 감소에 효과적이었음을 확인하였다. 또한 본 연구는 상대적으로 연구가 미비했던 장애자녀를 둔 어머니를 대상으로 했다는 점과 미술치료에 섬유매체의 활용 가능성을 제시했다는 점에 의미가 있다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to look at how Fabric Art Therapy program affects the reduction of anxiety and depression of to the mothers with disabled children. This study focuses on two mothers who use ‘A’ Disabled Welfare, which is located in Seoul. The mothers attended 150-minute fabric art therapy sessions once a week for a total of 12 sessions. This program centered around using wool and felt. A goal for each stage of this program was to relax tension through literature review, emotional expression, conversion to a positive mind, and maintaining a positive mind. To verify the effectiveness of the program, the researcher analyzed changes of on the State-Trait Anxiety Inventory (STAI) and Beck Depression Inventory (BDI). The results of this study are as follows. First, the fabric art therapy had an impact on decreasing anxiety for mother with disabled children. Second, the fabric art therapy was effective in reducing depression in mothers with disabled children. Therefore, this study has two meanings. First of all, fabric art therapy is an effective approach to treating the emotions of mothers with disabled children. Second, this study was aimed at the mothers who have disabled children who were not active objects of study. Lastly, this study suggests the possibility of effectively using fabric art as art therapy.
