초등학생의 스트레스 정도에 따른 나무그림검사(Baum Test)의 반응특성 연구

국문 초록

본 연구는 스트레스 정도에 따라 초등학생의 나무그림 반응특성에 차이가 있는지를 알아본 것이다. 연구대 상은 경남 C시에 위치한 2개의 초등학교에 재학 중인 4, 5, 6학년 188명이었고, 연구도구로는 정신건강검사 척 도와 Koch의 나무그림검사를 이용하였다. 검사는 2010년 4월부터 5월까지 이루어졌으며, 검사 소요시간은 정신 건강검사 50~60분, 나무그림검사 20~30분이었다. 나무그림검사의 채점지표는 Koch의 기준을 중심으로 총 11개 의 지표로 나누었으며, 스트레스(전체, 사회적, 학업적, 가정적)에 따른 나무그림의 반응특성의 관계를 알아보기 위해 교차분석을 실시하였다. 본 연구에서 나타난 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 스트레스 전체점수에 따른 나 무그림의 반응특성차이는 스트레스가 높은 집단은 낮은 집단보다 나무줄기의 음영을 그리는 경향이 있고, 가지 를 그리지 않는 경향이 있고, 기저선을 그리는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 하위영역별 스트레스에 따른 나무그림의 반응특성차이는 사회적 스트레스가 높은 집단은 가지를 그리지 않는 경향과 줄기의 표면의 재질감, 풍경묘사가 많았다. 학업적 스트레스가 높은 집단은 가지를 그리지 않는 경향이 많고, 떨어지는 잎을 그리는 경향과 풍경 묘사가 많았다. 가정적 스트레스가 높은 집단은 기저선을 그리는 것으로 나타났다. 이와 같은 결과를 볼 때, 나 무그림검사가 초등학생의 스트레스를 파악할 수 있는 도구로서 사용할 수 있음을 확인한 것에 의의가 있다.

영문 초록

This study investigated the response types of elementary school students with different levels of stress on the Baum test. Participants of this study were a total of 188 students in 4th, 5th, and 6th grade at two elementary schools in the city C, Gyeongnam province. The instruments employed in this study included a mental health scale and Koch's Baum test. The measurement period lasted from April 2010 to May, 2010. The mental health scale took about 50 to 60 minutes for one to finish and Baum test about 20 to 30 minutes. The Baum test consisted of 11 indexes, which were based on Koch's standards. A crosstab was conducted to investigate the relationship between the participants' different kinds of stress (social, academic, familial, and all) and their response types on the Baum test. The study found the followings. First, when compared to the low stress group, the high stress group of participants tended to draw shades on the tree trunk and baselines. The group did not include tree branches in their drawings. Second, the group with high social stress tended not to include tree branches. The group drew the tree trunk describing the surface texture of it and showed many landscape descriptions. The group with high academic stress tended not to include tree branches. The group showed falling leaves and many landscape descriptions in the drawings. The group with high family stress showed the use of baselines. These findings lend support to the use of the Baum test as a complementing tool in investigating the stress level of elementary school students.
