모의수업 활동에 기반한 예비교사들의 ‘좋은 수업’에 대한 인식 연구

국문 초록

본 연구는 개념도 연구법을 적용하여 예비교사들이 인식하고 있는‘좋은 수업’의 개념적 구조를 밝히는 데 초점을 두었다. 이를 위해, 30명의 예비교사들로 하여금 모의수업 활동을 하게 한 후,‘좋은 수업’의 특성들을 단문 형식으로 자유롭게 산출해 보도록 하였다. 최종적으로 산출된 45개의 특성을 다차원 척도법과 위계적 군집 분석을 이용하여 분석한 결과, 예비교사들이 인식하고 있는 ‘좋은 수업’의 특성들은 5개의 군집-‘과목의 철학적 성격’,‘수업 방향’,‘교수방법’,‘수업운영’,‘교사의 태도 및 성향’-으로 나타났다. 개념도에 표상된 2개의 차원은‘인지 대 정서’와 ‘철학적 대 방법적’ 차원으로 해석되었다. 또한, 예비교사들은 5개의 군집 중에서‘수업방향’을 가장 중요하게 생각하였고, 그 다음으로는‘교수방법’,‘과목의 철학적 성격’,‘수업운영’,‘교사의 태도 및 성향’의 순으로 중요하게 여기는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구 결과로 산출된 개념도는 예비교사들이 모의수업 활동을 기반으로 수업이 갖는 다면성을 지각하면서‘좋은 수업’에 대한 구체적인 개념을 갖고 있음을 확인시켜 주었다.

영문 초록

This study was intended to explore pre-service teachers’ conceptions of ‘good instruction’ using the concept-mapping method. For this study, 30 pre-service teachers were asked to perform teaching demonstrations. They were also asked to provide their feedbacks after observing their peers’ teaching demonstration. After that, they were asked to identify characteristics of good instruction, from which 45 key conceptions were extracted. Multidimensional scaling and hierarchical cluster analysis methods were used in order to identify the dimensions and clusters of their conceptions. 5 clusters, namely, ‘subject’s philosophical characteristics’, ‘direction of instruction’, ‘teaching pedagogy’, ‘class management’, ‘teachers’ attitudes and styles’, were identified under the 2 dimensions - ‘cognitive vs emotional’ and ‘philosophical vs. methodical’. Among the 5 clusters, the pre-service teachers rated ‘direction of instruction’ as the most important while they considered ‘teachers’ attitudes and styles’ the least important. The concept map produced in this study showed that pre-service teachers seem to have a very specific, complicated notion of ‘good instruction’.
