다중지능이론을 활용한 프로젝트학습이 초등학생의 학습동기와 사회과 학업성취에 미치는 영향

국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 다중지능이론을 활용한 프로젝트학습이 초등학생의 학습동기와 사회과 학업성취에 미치는 영향을 알아보는 것이다. 연구대상은 서울시에 위치하고 있는 D초등학교 4학년 3개 학급 95명을 대상으로 두 개의 학급은 실험집단으로 나머지 한 학급은 통제집단으로 임의로 선정하였다. 실험집단에서는 다중지능이론을 활용한 프로젝트학습을 실시한 반면, 통제집단에서는 일반적 프로젝트학습을 4주동안 실시하였다. 다중지능 이론을 활용한 프로젝트학습의 효과를 알아보기 위해 학습동기와 사회과 학업성취에 대한 사전검사와 사후검사를 실시하고, 자료분석을 위해 공분산분석(ANCOVA), 다변량공분산분석(MANCOVA), Mann-Whitney U 검정을 실시하였다. 연구결과, 다중지능이론을 활용한 프로젝트학습이 전반적인 학습동기와 함께 학습동기 하위요인에서는 본질동기과 계속 동기에 유의미한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 또한, 사회과 학업성취도에서도 다중지능이론을 활용한 프로젝트학습이 지필고사를 통한 개별학업성취도와 더불어 모둠보고서를 통한 팀성취도에서는 창의성, 연관성, 논리성 영역에 유의미한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this research was to examine the effect of project-based learning using multiple intelligence theory on motivation and achievement of social science in elementary school. Ninety-five students of 4th grade in D elementary school participated in the study. The treatment were conducted for 4 weeks and data of pre-post tests with motivation and achievement test were collected. First, the result of ANCOVA with total score of motivation and the results of MANCOVA with sub-factors of motivation showed statistical significance. Besides the results of follow-up univariate F tests showed that the experiment group showed higher scores in the two sub-factors; Intrinsic and continuous motivation. Second, the results of ANCOVA using individual achievement score showed that the experiment group got higher scores than the control group with statistical significance. Besides the result of Mann-Whitney U test of team achievement score showed that the experiment group got higher scores than the control group, specifically in the area of creativity, relativeness, and logic.
