읽기 전략 교수가 중학생의 읽기 성취도와 학습만족도에 미치는 영향

국문 초록

초등학교 3학년부터 읽기를 위한 학습보다 학습을 위한 읽기를 시작하며 학교 교육 내용의 학습을 위한 읽기의 중요성은 중학교 시기까지 지속된다. 학습 내용을 잘 파악하기 위한 읽기 전략은 읽기의 목적을 달성하기 위한 인지전략의 중요한 영역이며, 이것은 학업 성취에 중요한 영향을 미친다. 이 연구의 목적은 읽기 부진아들이 포함된 교실 안에서 읽기 전략을 통합한 수업을 실행했을 때, 중학생들의 학습 만족도와 읽기 성취도를 보는 것이다. 연구는 중학교의 두 학급을 대상으로 실시하였으며, 실험 집단은 국어 교사에 의해 학급 안에 읽기에 문제를 보이는 학생이 속해 있어서 중재가 필요하다고 보고한 학급이다. 연구에서는 읽기 전략 중 어휘력과 독해력에 초점을 두어 전략을 수행하였으며, 연구 결과, 읽기 전략을 통합하여 명시적으로 가르친 학생들이 읽기 성취와 학습 만족도에서 통제 집단보다 유의미한 향상을 나타냈다. 이 연구의 결과는 읽기 부진을 보이는 학생들을 포함한 일반 학급에서 읽기 전략이 모든 학생의 읽기 능력 향상에 긍정적인 효과가 있음을 입증했다. 따라서 연구자는 본 연구를 토대로 교사들이 수업 시간에 학생들이 읽기 전략을 사용하여 교과 영역의 내용을 학습하고 이해하는 데 적용할 수 있는 교수 전략을 교육 받아야 하며, 그것을 일반 수업 시간 및 수업에 적용할 수 있는 방안을 제안하고, 함의점을 논의하였다.

영문 초록

Reading plays an important role for acquiring content knowledge during school age. In developmental stages of reading, students begin learning to read rather than reading to learn from the grade three of elementary school and it continues to middle school. Reading strategies are the important part of cognitive strategies to achieve the reading goal and they have significant impact on academic achievement. Also reading strategies are discussed for all students who have various needs as well as learning disabilities or underachieving students. The purpose of the study is to find out the effects of reading strategies on learner's satisfaction and reading achievement of middle students in inclusive classroom. The study was implemented in two middle school classes, and participants were seventh grade students from two classrooms including two students with learning disabilities and underachiever. The results of this study showed that students who were taught using reading strategies outperformed significantly in reading achievement and learner's satisfaction compared to control group. Thus reading strategies validated the positive effects on learner's satisfaction and reading achievement when implemented in an inclusive classroom of students with various needs. Also, teachers should be aware that various learning strategies could be applied in their teaching reading in content area. Further researches were suggested and implication was discussed.
