초등 여아들의 또래문화:‘카스(카카오스토리)’를 중심으로

국문 초록

본 연구에서는 ‘카스’ 상의 초등학교 여아들의 또래문화를 살펴보고자 하였다. 이를 위해 부산시내 A지역에 있는 초등학교 6학년 여학생 10명을 대상으로 ‘카스’ 상에 올라온 내용들 을 분석하였다. 내용 분석을 위해 관찰과 면담을 활용하였다. 그 결과 다음과 같은 특성을 볼 수 있었다. 먼저, 아이들은 ‘카스’ 상에서 그들만의 의사소통의 수단으로 욕설, ‘공감글귀’ 및 다양한 상징적 기호들을 사용하며 잠정적인 문화요소들을 형성하고 있었다. 말하자면 (비)언어적 코 드들은 상호관계에 따라 의미가 다르게 전달되는, 그들만의 의미전달 코드의 역동성을 나타 내었다. 다음으로, 6학년 후반부로 갈수록 아이들은 ‘실친’으로 조직된 ‘우정덤’이라고 할 수 있는 보다 고정된 또래집단을 형성하거나, 이성애에 대한 보다 많은 관심을 기울이는 것으로 그 들만의 문화를 형성하고 있었다. 이러한 ‘우정덤’의 특성은 ‘이삐레인저’ 그룹과 ‘못난이들’ 그룹에서 볼 수 있었으며, 이들 그룹에서 이성애에 대한 관심과 질투가 대화 속에 주된 주 제가 되는 것을 볼 수 있었다.

영문 초록

This is a qualitative study on a cyber peer culture of an elementary school girl group in the sixth grade in Busan who communicated with each other in a SNS called CAS(Cacao Story). We analyzed the content of dialogues in the CAS between 10 members of the group and also collected data on their peer culture. Findings are as follows. First, the dialogues of the girl group in the CAS consisted largely of abusive languages, abbreviated words and signs, updated slangs, and ‘GONGGAM GLGUI’(shared feelings and emotions), which build up potential cultural elements. In fact, the verbal or nonverbal language codes carried different meanings depending on their relationships and represented the dynamic of delivering meanings of their own. Second, the girl group toward the end of sixth-years builds up their own culture either through evolving to more stable peer group called ‘Ujeongdum’, mainly consist of close actual peer friends ‘Sil-Chin’, or concerning more with the hetero-sexual relationship with their boy friends. The characteristics of Ujeongdum can be observed from its distinct sub-groups called ‘IbbeeRanger’ (pretty girls) and ‘Motnanee’ (ugly girls) where interest or jealousy in the hetero-sexual relationship is the main topic of communication.
