대안교육 수요 결정 요인 분석

국문 초록

본 연구에서는 학생과 학부모는 대안교육을 어느 정도 필요로 하는지, 그리고 이러한 대안교육 수요를 결정하는 요인은 무엇인지를 분석하고자 하였다. 본 연구를 위하여 서울시와 경기지역에 소 재하고 있는 중학교 3학년과 고등학교 2학년 학생 1,000명 및 그 학부모 690명을 대상으로 설문조 사를 실시하였다. 분석 결과 대부분의 학생(88.4%)과 학부모(82.7%)가 대안학교운동이 필요하다고 생각하고 있으며, 학생의 72.8%와 학부모의 63.9%가 대안학교에 진학 또는 전학할 의사가 있는 것 으로 나타났다. 학생의 대안교육 수요에는 학교교육만족도와 부모의 성적중시 태도가 유의미한 직 접적 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 학교교육만족도가 낮을수록, 부모의 성적중시 태도가 약할수 록 대안교육 수요가 높은 것으로 나타났다. 부모의 성적중시 태도는 학교생활적응도에, 학교생활적 응도는 학교교육만족도에 영향을 미침으로써 대안교육 수요에 간접적으로도 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 학부모의 대안교육 수요에는 자녀성적중시 태도, 가정배경, 학력주의 사회관이 유의미한 직접적 영향을 미치고 있었다. 자녀성적중시 태도가 낮고, 가정배경이 좋고, 학력주의 사회관이 높 은 학부모일수록 대안교육에 대한 수요가 높은 것으로 나타났다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to examine to what extent students and parents were in need of alternative education and what factors determine their demand for alternative education. In Seoul and Gyeonggi province, 1,000 students in their third year of middle school and second year of high school and 690 parents were surveyed. Most students(88.4%) and parents(82.7%) felt the high need for alternative education. Besides, 72.8 percent of the students were willing to go on to an alternative school or transfer to it, and 63.9 percent of the parents had the same opinion. A structural equation model was prepared to identify what affected the demand of the students and parents for alternative education. The students' demand for alternative education was under the significant direct influence of their satisfaction with school education and their parents' emphasis on school grades. Those who were less satisfied with school education and whose parents considered school grades less important were more in need of alternative education. The parents' demand for alternative education were significantly affected by their own emphasis on school grades, their education and income level and the view of credential society. Those who considered school grades less important, whose education and income were higher and who has a stronger view of credential society were more in need of alternative education.
