평준화의 왜곡과 자립형 사립고의 문제에 대한 비판적 고찰

국문 초록

본 연구에서는 최근 교육의 다양화 추구라는 명목으로 이루어지고 있는 평준화에 대한 비판의 타당성을 검토해보고, 평준화 보완책으로 나온 자립형 사립고의 문제에 대해 논의해본다. 평준화 폐 지와 자립형 사립고 확대는 학벌주의 사회에서 일어나는 학벌경쟁의 양상을 띠고 있는 것으로 지위 경쟁에 유리한 고지를 점하려는 보수적인 엘리트 집단의 시도로서 이해될 수 있다. 이러한 관점에 서 평준화에 대한 최근의 비판은 타당성이 결여되어 있는 이데올로기적 공세임을 밝히려한다. 그리 고 귀족적인 자립형 사립고는 계급분화를 재생산하는 전근대적인 학교이며, 사회적 통합을 저해할 뿐만 아니라 정의롭지 못한 것임을 밝히고자 한다.

영문 초록

The high school equalization policy served to solve the severe social problems of the credentialism of the elite high school. Nevertheless, its great contribution is largely ignored by the opponents. The equalization policy are attempted to be abolished in the name of the educational diversity. So, it is necessary to examine the validity of the critiques of the equalization policy. The arguments for the abolishment of the equalization policy and the introduction of the independent private school could be understood as the intention of leading conservative elite groups to have the overwhelming advantages in the status competition. From this point of view, in this study I argue that the current conservative critiques on the equalization policy are nothing but the ideological attacks lacking their validity. Besides, I argue that independent private school is unjust pre-modern school and that it is likely to exacerbate socioeconomic segregation.
