국문 초록

한국의 암각화는 다양성, 역사성, 개성이 두드러진 선사 및 역사미술 장르다. 한국의 암각화는 구상과 비구상의 다양한 제재가 다양한 방식으로 구성되어 작품으로 남겨졌다. 선사시대와 역사시대를 아우르는 역사성 깊은 암각화 작품이 여럿 남아 있는 것도 한국 암각화의 특징이다. 한국의 암각화는 야외 유적의 형태로 주로 남아 있어 교육, 문화, 예술의 현장으로 활용하기에 적합하다. 한국의 암각화 가운데에는 여러 시기에 걸쳐 다양한 제재가 잇달아 새겨져 작품에 대한 복합적 접근과 이해를 필요로 하는 사례도 많다. 한국 암각화는 콘텐츠로서 확장성이 크다. 한국 암각화에서는 보편성이 높은 제재, 개성적인 제재도 동시에 확인된다. 한국 암각화는 교육, 문화, 예술 콘텐츠로서 현장성, 복합성, 확장성을 강하게 드러낸다. 암각화 유적을 중심으로 한 일정한 범위의 공간, 곧 경관은 암각화 제작 및 제의와 관련된 지역으로 연구되고 보호, 관리 되어야 한다. 암각화 유적과 유물은 시간적 흐름 안에서 자리 매김되고 자연환경과 역사지리, 인문지리의 변화 과정과 함께 검토되어야 한다. 암각화의 디지털 자료화 과정에는 자료서비스에 접하는 사람이 유적 현장의 창조적 재구성과 복원을 시도하고 경험할 수 있을 정도로 충분한 역사문화 정보를 포함하도록 주의가 기울여져야 한다.

영문 초록

Korean petroglyph is a genre of prehistoric and historic art that show remarkable diversity, historical value, and uniqueness. The works that remain show various compositions of figurative and abstract motifs. Many Korean petroglyphs also hold high historical value that cover both prehistoric and historic period. Because the majority of Korean petroglyphs remains as outdoors historical site, they can be the place of education, culture and art. Among the Korean petroglyphs, there are many examples which require complex approach and understanding as they hold various motifs from different periods of time. The Korean petroglyphs hold much potential as cultural contents with both universal and unique motifs. As educational, cultural, and creative contents, the petroglyphs show complexity as well as a possibility of expansion. The areas surrounding the petroglyph sites should be researched and protected s parts of the sites’ environment. The site and artifacts of petroglyphs should be placed in time and be examined in relation to the changes in the natural environment, historical landscapes, and humanistic geography. The digitalized petroglyph resources should contain enough quality historical and cultural information in order to allow the user to experience and recreate the historical site.
