金代 ‘犀牛望月’紋 銅鏡의 多樣性과 地域性

국문 초록

소가 달을 바라보는 형상을 표현한 용어로 ‘犀牛望月’ 혹은 ‘吳牛喘月’이 있다. 이를 주제로 한 詩, 陶瓷, 工藝品 등이 제작되었으며, 특히 금속공예품인 銅鏡에 다양한 문양으로 표현되어 주목된다. 주로 송·금대 제작된 이 동경은 중국 내에서 대량 제작하여 유통한 것으로 보인다. ‘서우망월’문 동경은 현재 그 명칭 사용에서 통일된 명칭이 없고, 소와 관련된 여러 기록이나 사례 등을 통해 다양한 명칭이 사용되고 있는 실정이다. 이중 ‘뿔이 있는 소+달’의 형상에 대해 문헌기록과 작품들을 분석한 결과, ‘서우망월’이 동경에 적합한 명칭임을 제시하였다. ‘서우망월’문 동경에 표현된 주된 문양은 ‘소’, ‘달’, ‘별자리’를 꼽을 수 있으며, 이를 제외한 여러 문양이 결합되거나 제외됨에 따라 문양 구성이 다양화되는 경향을 보인다. 이에 대해 중심 문양을 기준으로 ‘서우망월’문 동경을 유형분석 하였으며, 각 유형별로 갖는 특징은 당시 금대의 문화적·사회적 상황이 반영되어 있음을 밝혔다. 또한 ‘서우망월’문경에는 금대에서만 볼 수 있는 ‘刻子’와 주조 시 넣는 명문(鑄子)을 통해 제작시기와 제작지를 살펴본 결과, 吉林省系와 陝西省系로 동경을 분류할 수 있으며, 특히 섬서성계는 동경 테를 따라 一周하는 명문 기록이 있다. 섬서성계 동경은 대부분 明昌 혹은 承安年間 중 上元日, 端午日에 제작되었다는 기록이 있어, 동경을 목적성을 갖고 특정한 날에 제작하였음을 알 수 있다. 또한 승안년간에 제작된 동경의 명문에 나타나는 관직명은 금대 지방을 관리하던 관직명이며, 세금을 관장하던 관부에서 동경 제작에 중심적 역할을 하였음을 명문분석을 통해 고찰하였다.

영문 초록

Two terms are commonly used to express ‘a cow is looking at the moon’ scene: ‘Rhinoceros looking at the moon(犀牛望月)’ and ‘Water buffalo gasping at the moon(吴牛喘月)’. A lot of poetry, potteries, craftworks were made on this topics. Noteworthy point is that these topics were widely used with various patterns in bronze mirrors, which is a kind of metal craft. The bronze mirrors mainly produced in Song and Jin period seems to be mass produced and distributed in China but it was rarely handed over outside China. In case of ‘Rhinoceros looking at the moon’ pattern bronze mirrors, because standardized name is not exists, it is called in many different names based on records or events related with cow. Among them, we can take ‘Rhinoceros looking at the moon’ for describing these bronze mirrors because it symbolizes ‘horned cow looking at the moon’. Although main patterns used in ‘Rhinoceros looking at the moon’ pattern bronze mirrors are cow, moon and constellation, the pattern displays tendency of diversification based on combination or deletion of other various designs. In this reason I analyzed the bronze mirrors based on its main designs. Also I discovered cultural and social situations of Jin period are reflected in each characteristic of classified bronze mirrors. I could classify bronze mirrors into Sanxi type and Jilin type after monitoring manufacturing time and place through ‘Rhinoceros looking at the moon’ bronze mirror’s inscriptions and engraving of metallic types(刻字) which only used in Jin Period. In case of Sanxi type, inscription lays along the circuit shaped border of bronze mirror. Most of Sanxi bronze mirrors were produced in MyungChang(明昌) period or during SeungAn(承安) period. Considering the records of production date is ‘Lantern Festival(上元日)’ and ‘Dragon Boat Festival(端午日)’, we can guess that the bronze mirrors was intentionally manufactured on particular date with the certain sense of purpose. With the discovery of office position at the inscription of bronze mirror produced in during SeungAn period was in charge of an area in Jin period, we can assume that district office responsible for the tax played main role in production of bronze mirrors.
