영문 초록

Among the many neuropsychiatric complications in chronic alcoholics, the Marchiafava-Bignami disease is a rare clinical condition, which is pathologically characterized by selective degeneration of the corpus callosum as well as the anterior and posterior commissural fibers. It can share many of the common symptoms of chronic alcoholism, but frontal lobe signs(motor and mental slowness, apathy, and frontal releasing signs) are the most consistent findings. We report two cases of Marchiafava-Bignami disease that showed abnormal signal density in the corpus callosum on M R I or CT, and that presented with initial symptoms of psychiatric problems such as personality and behavioral changes
