영문 초록

The Cornell interview for Peers and Friendships(CIPF), a 30 minute non-intrusive semistructured interview, was developed to evaluate 7 to 12 year old children’s perceptions about their social relationships. The authors developed the Korean version of CIPF and, to evaluate the validity and interrater reliability, selected 33 elementary shool children as control group and compared them with 31 elementary school age children who inpatients and outpatients of the National Seoul Mental Hospital and outpatients of three private child psychiatry clinic during the periods from December 1992 to March 1993. Both group were interviewd by the Korean version of CIPE and assessed concoriatantly by parent form of Korean Version of Child Behavior Check List(CBCL). Significant differences on the CIPE were found between clinical group and non-clinical group and between younger age(7-9 years old) group and older age( 10-12 years old) group. Three CIPE subscales, developmental appropriateness, social skills, and self-esteem, were assessed and significantly differentiated betwen clinical and nonclinical group. Satisfactoiy interrater reliability was reported for the total scores and three subscale scores. Also, there was significant negative correlation between the scores of social competence subscale and the total scores of CIPF and significant positive correlation between extemalization subscale of CBCL and the total scores of CIPE. Our study suggests the potentiality of CIPE for evaluating childrens perception of peer and friendship, screening children at risk for emotional disturbance and for assessing outcome of therapeutic interventions
