스크리아빈 피아노 소나타에 나타나는 음계결합에 의한 범조성 연구

국문 초록

19세기 말에서 20세기 초의 음악들은 조성적인 음악과 무조음악에 대한 기준을 세우기가 난해한 시기라고 할 수 있다. 본 논문은 이러한 과도기적 시기의 중심에 있는 러시아 작곡가 스크리아빈의 피아노소나타를 통해 음계 중심으로 ‘범조성 (pan-tonality)의 개념을 설명한 연구이다. 본 논문의 분석은 조성적이지 않은 음악을 ‘무조성(atonality)’이라고 단정하기엔 부족한 면을 보완하고자 한다. 이를 위한 연구방법은 음계의 이동과 결합관계를 중심으로 한 분석 연구이며 다음 세 가지로 분류하였다. 첫째 테트라코드의 결합관계로 분류한 음계의 종류와 이동관계 분석 둘째, 공통음정관계로 결합한 음계간의 유기적 관계를 나타낸 그래프 분석 셋째, 서로 다른 음계간의 부분적인 결합으로 만든 혼합음계(Mixed scale)의 구조분석이다. 이러한 ‘범조성’이라는 개념의 접근방식은 하나의 조성(tonality)을 가진 음악 이후의 작품에서 부터 음렬음악(serial)이 전의 작품에까지 조성의 모호성에 대한 과정을 이해할 수 있는 해결점이 된다.

영문 초록

For music in the period of late 19th century through early 20th century, it is difficult to establish standards of tonal music and non-tonal music. This study explores the scale with the concept of pan-tonality through a total of piano sonatas of Russian composer Scriabin who was at the center of this transitional period. This study intends to complement the deficiency of the definition that non-tonal music is ’atonal. For this purpose, this study conducted analysis centering on movement and connecting relationship of scale, which is classified into 3 kinds; First, analysis on the kinds of scales classified by combination relationship of tetrachord and movement relationship; Second, analysis on the graph which represents cohesion of scale combined by relationship of common interval; Third, structural analysis of mixed scale created by partial combination of different scales; This approach in the concept of pan-tonality provides a solution to understand the process regarding the ambiguity of tonality from the works after music with one tonality to those before serial music.
