경토리의 학술적 근거 고찰

국문 초록

경토리는 서울, 경기 지방의 음악에 쓰이는 음계 및 선법을 말한다. 본 연구의 목적은 현재 음악교육과정 및 교과서에서 소개하고 있는 경기민요의 내용 중 경토리에 관한 학술적 근거에 대하여 밝히는 것이다. 이를 위해 2009 개정 중학교 음악과 교육과정과 교과서에 나타난 경기민요와 경토리의 내용을 검토하고, 이와 관련한 국악학 자료를 살핀 다음, 이를 바탕으로 경기민요와 경토리에 대한 중요한 특징들과 근거를 살펴본 결과를 제시하면 다음과 같다. 교과서에 소개된 경토리에 관하여 첫째, 경토리는 서울 경기 충청 지방 음악에 사용되는 선법을 말한다. 둘째, 경토리는 지역음악의 특징이나 창법보다는 음계 및 선법 위주로 설명하고 있다. 셋째, 경토리에 대한 설명은 음계이외에 관한 사항은 교과서마다 다르다. 경토리의 학술적 근거 측면에서 첫째, 1950년대 이혜구에 의해 음악적 사투리와 같은 지역적 특징의 개념으로 처음 사용된 토리가 1970년대 이후 이보형에 의하여 민요의 선법 및 창법 등의 통합개념으로 확대 사용되었다. 둘째, 현재 사용하고 있는 토리라는 용어는 국악계에서 완전하게 합의된 용어가 아니고 역사적 측면에서 볼 때에도 학술적 근거가 분명하지 않다. 셋째, 학술적으로 사용하는 민요의 특징으로서의 토리 또한 음계나 선법에 관한 사항이외에는 정리된 정설이 없다. 따라서 현재 사용하고 있는 우리나라 민요의 토리는 음계나 선법으로 대체하고 어느 정도 정리된 창법적 특징을 마련해서 보급하여야 할 것이다.

영문 초록

The ‘Kyeongtori’ is a meaningful terminology for modal characteristic of Kyeonggi folksong. Purpose of this article examines for the genre characteristics of Kyeonggi folksong in 2009 revisied music curriculum and textbook, futhermore wondering the ‘Kyeongtori’ is appropriate to refer as academic origin and bases in this field. After searching for a problems, it would be suggested something solution. The summary is as following. About Kyeonggi folksongs and ‘Kyeongtori’ in 2009 revisied music curriculum and textbook: Firstly, The ‘Kyeongtori’ is a meaningful terminology for modal characteristic of Kyeonggi folksong using in Kyeonggi and Chungcheong Province. Secondly, The ‘Kyeongtori’ is to be explaned rather scale and mode than tori as geographcal musical characteristic. Thirdly, It is different contents of ‘Kyeongtori’ in every music textbook except modal characteristic. About academic origin and bases of ‘Kyeongtori’ in this field: Firstly, Terminology ‘Tori’ is to be used firstly as geographcal musical characteristic comparison with ‘Satoori’ same as a dialect of several province. Thereafter this become popular in sevral paper and books by Lee, Bohyung as genre characteristics of folksong included scale, mode, vocal characteristics and so on. Secondly, Nowday’s ‘Kyeongtori’ is not musical terminology through agreement among musicologist and music educator. In addition it has not definiteness based on musical history. Thirdly, ‘Kyeongtori’ as musical terminology has not an widely accepted opinion popular except about scale and mode same as case of music curriculum and textbook. Therefore, It is requested that ‘Kyeongtori’ as modal characteristic of Kyeonggi folksong would be use not tori but scale and mode esc. Pyeongjo or Gyemyunjo. Because it have not been arranged between the two fields as music education and Gugak musicology. So I hope to be suggested a statement of mutual agreement about vocal characteristics of Kyeonggi folksong by reference to a few pacts.
