국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 청소년의 음악듣기와 음악활동 경험이 음악적 선호에 미치는 영향을 알고자 하는 것이다. 이를 위한 연구 참여자는 G광역시의 초등학교 5, 6학년 200명이다. 연구방법은 음악적 선호에 대한 자기기입식 설문을 조사한 후, 그 결과를 빈도분석과 백분율로 산출하여 분석하였다. 음악적 선호의 하위 변인으로는 음악동기, 음악듣기, 음악활동으로 구분하여 그 특성을 분석하였다. 연구 결과에서는 첫째, 무의식적으로 듣는 음악에서도 그 양적 차이에 따라 음악적 선호에 영향을 보이고 있었다. 둘째, 음악활동 경험에서는 놀이와 음악교육의 경험을 구분하였는데, 음악 경험이 많은 학생은 현재 진행하고 있는 음악수업에도 긍정적이었다. 셋째, 음악적 선호에서는 예상과는 달리 남, 녀의 차이가 크지 않았다. 마지막으로 청소년의 음악적 선호에 미치는 요소들은 학교의 프로그램, 대중매체, 그리고 또래들의 선호에 영향을 받고 있었다. 이러한 연구의 결과는 방과후학교, 자유학기제 프로그램, 그리고 학교 내․ 외 문화예술 프로그램을 기획하고 실행하는데 참조하여 그 효율성을 높이는데 기초자료로 활용할 수 있을 것이다.

영문 초록

The objective of this study is to investigate how young students music listening and experience of playing music can affect their musical preferences. To this end, we devised a questionnaire based on a preliminary survey of musical preferences, which participants were asked to complete. We identified subset variables of musical preferences as a motivation for listening to music, the act of listening to music, and playing music, and analyzed respondents characteristics. A total of 200 students in fifth and sixth grades of one grammar school in a metropolitan region and two grammar schools in a smaller city participated. Based on their responses, their musical preferences were analyzed by frequency and percentage ratio. The results are as follows: First, the amount of time spent listening to music influenced their musical preferences even when they were not consciously aware of listening to it. Second, the students made a distinction between listening to music for fun and for educational purposes. Either way, those students with more experience of listening to music showed a more positive attitude towards music classes at school. Third, it was surprising that musical preferences did not significantly vary between girls and boys. Lastly, factors affecting musical preferences included music programs at school, TV dramas, and the influence of their peers. These findings can provide useful data to assist in more efficient planning and implementation of after-school music programs, music programs for the non-academic semester, and art and culture programs both in school and outside it.
