국문 초록
“탑”은 예이츠의 존재합일의 우수성을 밝히는 비밀이 담겨 있는 시이다. 이 시는 예이츠의 이원론은 플라톤과 플로티누스의 일원론이 가진 한계성을 극복하는 강점을 가지고 있다는 것을 암시적으로 드러내고 있다. 또한 이 시는 차별화된 죽음의 극복과정이 담겨 있다. 창조적인 상상력은 인간의 지성에 영향을 주고, 지성은 인간의 감정과 연결되어 평온의 상태를 만든다. 이 평온의 상태가 죽음을 극복하는 결정적 역할을 수행한다. 결국에 지성과 감정이 연결되어 죽음을 실제적으로 극복하는 것이 이 시가 가진 독창성이다.
영문 초록
“The Tower” shows the Yeatsian Unity of Being in which his dualism has strength to overcome the limitation of monism from Plato and Plotinus. In addition, this poem shows a unique way of surmounting the problem of death. Intelligence produced from creative imagination affects human emotion to create the mood of peace. The state of peace plays a crucial role in overcoming the problem of death. After all, mixing intelligence and emotion is an originality in “The Tower,” which provides a practical way to deal with death, in face of death.
