국문 초록

이 논문은 수학교육 분야에서 그동안 중요성에 비해 깊이 탐구되지 못했던 ‘구조’ 개념의 의미를 정리하고 수학의 구조를 가르친다는 말이 어떻게 이해되어야 하는지 고찰한다. 구조는 관찰 대상의 관련성으로 이해되어야 하며 전체성, 변형, 자율조정성 등의 특성을 가진다. 이에 비추어 볼 때 수학이라는 교과의 구조를 가르친다는 것은 수학적 개념과 원리들의 상호 관련성을 가르치는 것으로 이해될 수 있다. 또한 구조주의는 인식의 주체 또한 이미 존재하는 의미의 망 속에서 형성되는 것이라고 보기 때문에 주체가 의미를 부여하거나 구성한다는 근대의 인식론과 차별되는 관점을 갖는다. 이 논문에서는 이러한 구조주의적 인식론을 이해하기 위해 Lacan의 이론을 개관하고, 이로부터 주체와 객체의 이원론적 인식론이 아닌 언어와 기호에 의해 매개되는 인식론의 탐구를 제안한다.

영문 초록

This paper summarizes the meaning of the concept of structure, which has been under-explored in the field of mathematics education, and considers how it should be understood to teach the structure of mathematics. Structure is understood as the relevance of an object of observation and has characteristics such as wholeness, transformation, and self-regulation. In light of this, teaching the structure of mathematics can be understood as teaching the interrelatedness of mathematical concepts and principles. Structuralism also views the subject of cognition as being formed within a pre-existing web of meanings, which is different from modern epistemologies that assume that the subject gives or constructs meaning. In order to understand this structuralist epistemology, this paper will review Lacan's theories and propose an exploration of an epistemology mediated by language and symbols rather than a dualistic epistemology of subject and object.
