시뮬라크르 시대를 사는 그리스도인의 자기 정체성 - 플라톤의 친부 살해 개념과 폴 리쾨르의 자기정체성 이론의접점에서

국문 초록

현대는 실체(이데아)를 보유한 실재보다 ‘파생 실재’를 가진 모사본(이미지)이 더 큰 힘을 발휘하는 시대이다. 사람들은 이러한 현대를 시뮬라크르 시대라 부른다. 오늘날에는 실재라는 원본보다 시뮬라크르라는 사본이 더 큰 가치를 가지는 시대가 되었다. 이렇게 되기까지 철학과 문화에서 수많은 친부 살해가 있었다. 그 결과 현대는 진리라는 동일성을 중심으로 창조 유사성 찾기 어렵게 되고 사물 자체 내에 ‘파생 실재’를 내재시키는 것으로서 진리를 대신한다. 현대 기술 문화는 하나님 창조의 한계를 넘고자 하며, 머지않아 인간이 만든 기계(예를 들면 AI)가 인간보다 탁월해지는 ‘특이점’을 예고한다. 본 논문은 시뮬라크르 시대의 그리스도인들이 신앙을 가지고 살아가기 위해 어떤 정체성을 가져야 하는지 그 방안을 제시한다. 필자는 시뮬라크르 개념에 폴 리쾨르의 ‘자기 정체성’ 이론을 적용함으로써 삼위일체 하나님을 새롭게 인식시키고자 한다. 그것은 우리가 하나님 진리의 본질이라는 동일성을 찾기 위해 초대교회 정신이나 종교개혁 정신으로 돌아가 유사성을 찾는 방식이 아니라, 아버지 하나님이 스스로 죽으시고 성령 하나님이 되셔서 나를 성전 삼아 나의 파생 실재가 되심으로 진리와 시대정신 및 문화적 현실을 놓치지 않는 시뮬라크르적 방식이다.

영문 초록

The modern age is an age when the simulacre(image) with its “hyper-reality” seems more powerful than the real thing with its substance (idea). That’s because we call modern times the age of simulacre. Today, a simulacre has become, as it is, more valuable than the original, the real. There have been many patricides, that is, old truths have been killed by new truths incessantly, in the long history of philosophy. As a result, modernity is centered on the sameness of truth, which makes it harder to find similarities in creation and replaces truth with “hyper-reality” within things themselves. Modern technological culture seeks to exceed the limits of God’s creation and foreshadows a ‘singularity’ in which man-made machines such as AI will soon be superior even to human brains. This paper proposes a desirable way for Christians that what kind of identity they should have in order to live out their faith in the age of simulacra. By applying Paul Ricoeur’s theory of “self-identity” to the concept of simulacre, it is sought to create a new perception of the Triune God. It is a simulacre that does not turn to the spirit of the early church or the spirit of the Reformation to find similarities, but rather a simulacrum that helps us Christians keep sight of the truth, the Zeitgeist, and the cultural reality of God the Father who dies by himself and becomes God the Holy Spirit for me to live in Him and seek my hyper-reality.
