국문 초록

과거 전통적 사유의 방식은 이분법적 시각을 토대로 ‘인간-이성’이 담론의 중심에 있다. 이에 인간의 신체는 한낱 도구로서 치부되어왔으며 이는 인간을 바라보는 새로운 시각에 따라 한계점을 지적당한다. 이에 Merleau-Ponty는 과거 신체에 대한 편향적 규정을 거부함과 동시에 의식과 신체를 통일체로 강조하며 신체에 대한 개념을 재정립한다. 이를 통하여 신체는 인간이 세계 안에 존재하도록 하는 주체로서, 또한 세계에 의미를 부여하는 실존적 주체로 그 지위를 부여받는다. 현재는 다양한 원인으로 사회적 패러다임이 급속히 변화하는 가운데 인간에 대한 미래지향적인 이해가 중요한 시점이다. 따라서 현재 담론의 중심에는 신체의 긍정적 가치가 무엇보다 우선되어야 할 것이다. 이에 본 연구는 인간 삶의 주체로 존재하는 신체를 현대적 시각에서 면밀히 살피는데 연구의 필요성이 있다. 이에 인간의 ‘몸’에 대한 철학적 문제를 제시한 Merleau-Ponty의 사유를 바탕으로 세계-신체의 상호 관계성에 대한 탐구와 더불어 세계와 관계하는 주체로서 신체의 긍정적 가치에 대하여 담론을 이어가고자 한다. 이에 본 연구는 사회철학적 의미의 탐구를 넘어 현대적 시각에서 자기 확신의 근원이며 사회적 요구에 대한 실질적인 대안으로서 신체가 사회현상과 어떠한 방식으로 연결되어 있는가에 대한 전체적 조망으로, 이는 현재 신체 이해에 있어 비판적 점검의 계기로 기여될 것이다.

영문 초록

The ways of thought in traditional philosophy are rooted in a dichotomous perspective, with ‘human-reason’ at the center of the discourse. Accordingly, the human body has been dismissed as a mere tool, and its limitations are pointed out according to a new perspective on humans. Accordingly, Merleau-Ponty rejects the biased definition of the body in the past and at the same time redefines the concept of the body by emphasizing consciousness and the body as a unity. Through this, the body is given the status as a subject that allows humans to exist in the world and as an existential subject that gives meaning to the world. Currently, as the social paradigm is rapidly changing for various reasons, a future-oriented understanding of humans is important. Therefore, the positive value of the body should be prioritized above all else at the center of current discourse. Accordingly, there is a need for this study to closely examine the body, which exists as the subject of human life, from a modern perspective. Accordingly, based on the thoughts of Merleau-Ponty, who presented philosophical issues about the human ‘body,’ we would like to explore the interrelationship between the world and the body and continue the discourse on the positive value of the body as a subject that relates to the world. Accordingly, this study goes beyond the exploration of social philosophical meaning and provides a holistic view of how the body is connected to social phenomena as a source of self-confidence and a practical alternative to social demands from a modern perspective, which is a critical aspect in the current understanding of the body. It will serve as an opportunity for inspection.
