거친 신체놀이에 대한 유아교사의 인식과 자율성 지지가 유아의 놀이성에 미치는 영향

국문 초록

목적 본 연구는 거친 신체놀이에 대한 유아교사의 인식, 자율성 지지, 유아의 놀이성간의 상관관계와 영향력을 파악하고자 하는데 목적이 있다. 방법 본 연구는 서울과 수도권에 소재하는 어린이집과 유치원의 3세∼5세반 담임교사 231명과 유아 462명을 대상으로 거친 신체놀이에 대한 유아교사의 인식, 유아교사의 자율성 지지 그리고 유아의 놀이성을 측정하여 분석하였다. 결과 거친 신체놀이에 대한 유아교사의 인식, 자율성 지지, 유아의 놀이성 간에 정적상관관계가 나타났다. 거친 신체놀이에 대한 유아교사의 인식과 자율성 지지는 유아의 놀이성에 긍정적 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 거친 신체놀이에 대한 유아교사의 관심 정도, 필요성 및 가치에 대한 인식과 자율성 지지 하위요인 중 존중이 유아의 놀이성 하위요인 전체에 정적 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 결론 본 연구는 거친 신체놀이에 대한 유아교사의 긍정적인 인식과 자율성 지지가 유아의 놀이성에 영향을 미친다는 사실을 확인함으로써, 유아의 놀이성 발달에 교사의 역할이 중요하다는 것을 밝혔다는 점에서 의의가 있다.

영문 초록

Objectives This study analyzed correlation of the teacher’s perception of rough-and-tumble play, support for autonomy, and children’s playfulness and the effects of the independent variables on the dependent variable. Methods Data were collected from 231 teachers and 462 children aged 3 to 5 years in daycare centers and kindergartens in Seoul and the metropolitan area. Measures included teachers' perceptions of rough-and-tumble play, autonomy support, and children's playfulness. Results First, there were significant positive correlations among teacher’s perception on rough physical play, support for autonomy, and children’s playfulness. Second, teacher’s perception on rough-and-tumble play and support for autonomy were found to have an effect on children’s playfulness. Perception on degree of attention, necessity and value of rough physical play among the sub-factors of teachers’ perception on rough-and-tumble play and respect from the sub-factors of support for autonomy affected all sub-factors of children’s playfulness. Conclusions This study is significant in highlighting the importance of preschool teachers' positive on rough-and-tumble play and perceptions of rough-and-tumble play and their support for autonomy, confirming their influence on children's playfulness development. It underscores the critical role of teachers in fostering children's playfulness.
