한문 간찰서식집 『睡餘錄』 연구

국문 초록

본고는 1929년에 연활자본으로 간행된 한문 간찰서식집 『睡餘錄』의 저자 및 그 체제와 내용에 대해 살펴보았다. 『수여록』 권말의 版權紙에는 저작자가 이 책의 序文을 쓴 草堂主人으로 되어 있는데, 서문을 살펴본 결과, 『수여록』의 원저자가 따로 있음을 알 수 있었다. 문헌 연구가 박철상 선생이 『수여록』의 원저자가 17세기 후반부터 18세기 전반까지 관료 생활을 했던 李裕民(1658~1729)이라는 사실을 밝혀내었는데, 필자는 이를 바탕으로 이유민이 어느 시기에 『수여록』을 저술했는지, 이유민과 연활자본 『수여록』의 저작자로 되어 있는 초당주인은 어떤 상관성이 있는지 추정해 보았다. 또한 跋文을 쓴 李方珪가 근대의 시기인 1929년에 조선시대에나 통용될 법한 한문본 『수여록』 간행을 주관한 이유도 살펴보았다. 한편 『수여록』의 체제를 일목요연하게 도표화시켜 한눈에 파악할 수 있게 하였다. 이를 통해 『수여록』에 수록된 예문 간찰들이 대체로 대분류-중분류-소분류의 3단계로 구성되어 있음을 확인할 수 있었다. 그런데 분류방식에 일관성이 다소 부족하여 갈피를 잡지 못한 경우도 보였다. 이처럼 분류방식의 미흡함으로 인해 도표화시켜놓은 목차만 보고는 내용 파악이 어려운 예문 간찰들이 상당수 있었다. 따라서 제목만으로는 그 내용을 알 수 없는 예문 간찰들의 내용을 파악하여 『수여록』에는 ‘請託’과 ‘要請’으로 분류되는 간찰들도 수록되어 있음을 밝혀 놓았다.

영문 초록

This study examined the author, system, and contents of the letter-writing guidebook 『Suyeorok(睡餘錄)』, published as a typographic printing in 1929. The copyright paper of 『Suyeorok』 lists the author as Chodangjuin(草堂主人), who wrote the preface to this book. However, after examining the preface, we were able to find out that there was an original author of 『Suyeorok』. Literature researcher Park Cheol-sang discovered that the original author of 『Suyeorok』 was Lee Yu-min(李裕民 1658~1729), who served as a bureaucrat from the late 17th century to the early 18th century. Based on this fact, the researcher of this paper estimated what period Lee Yu-min wrote 『Suyeorok』 and what kind of relationship there was between Lee Yu-min and Chodang Ju-in. In addition, I also looked at the reason why Lee Bang-gyu(李方珪), who wrote the postscript, supervised the publication of 『Suyeorok』, a Chinese text that could have been used only in the Joseon Dynasty, in 1929, during the modern era. Meanwhile, the system of 『Suyeorok』 was diagrammed so that it could be clearly understood. Through this, it was found that the example letters included in 『Suyeorok』 are generally organized into three categories: major category, middle category, and minor category. However, there were cases where the classification method was somewhat inconsistent and the results were confusing. Because of this incomplete classification method, there were many example letters whose contents were difficult to understand if you only looked at the table of contents. So, by understanding the contents of the letters whose contents cannot be known from the title alone, it was revealed that 『Suyeorok』 also contains letters classified as ‘requests for work’ and ‘requests for goods’.
