국문 초록

본 논문은 角亭 趙翰逵가 저술한 『大學本義』의 편찬 배경과 특징을 고찰한 것이다. 각정 조한규는 18세기 중반에서 19세기 초반까지 살았던 조선 후기의 학자이다. 『대학본의』는 그가 남긴 문집인 『角亭老人遺書』에 실려있는 四書 중 하나인 『大學』의 주석서이다. 『대학본의』에서 각정은 주자의 『大學章句』의 『대학』 해석을 비판하며 자신만의 독창적인 경학관을 드러냈다. 각정의 『大學』 해석의 특징은 다음과 같다. 우선 각정은 ｢古本大學｣의 편차를 따랐고, 『대학』을 爲政者의 학문으로 보고 주자의 3강령ㆍ8조목을 전면 부정하였다. 또한 그동안 유학에서 상대적으로 주목받지 못했던 誠의 개념을 전면에 내세워 誠이 유학의 근본이라는 誠本說을 提唱하였다. 각정은 그의 글에서 탈주자학적 성향을 가지고 성리학의 학설을 비판하였고 실제적이고 현실적인 실천 중심의 실학 사상의 면모를 드러냈다. 각정의 사상은 조선 후기 실학사상의 저변을 넓히는 데 도움이 될 수 있을 것이다.

영문 초록

This paper examines the compilation background and characteristics of Daehakbonui(大學本義) written by Kakjeong Cho Han-gyu. Cho Han-gyu was a scholar of the late Joseon Dynasty who lived from the mid-18th century to the early 19th century. Daehakbonui(大學本義) written by Kakjeong is an annotation book of Daehak(大學), one of the Four-books(四書), contained in his anthology, Kakjeongnoinyuseo(角亭老人遺書). In Daehakbonui(大學本義), Kakjeong criticized the interpretation of Daehak(大學) in Zhu-xi's Daehakjanggu(大學章句), revealing his own original view of the perspective. The characteristics of Kakjeong's interpretation of Daehak(大學) are summarized as follows. First of all, Kakjeong followed the edited order of Gobondaehak(古本大學) and regarded Daehak(大學) as the study of politicians and completely denied Zhu-xi's three general principles and eight articles. in addition, also raised the Seongbonseol(誠本說) that Seong(誠) is the basis of Confucianism by putting the concept of Seong(誠), which has been relatively unnoticed in Confucianism, to the fore. In his writings, Kakjeong criticized the theory of Neo-Confucianism with a Viewpoint of defection from Neo-Confucianism and revealed realistic practice-oriented ideas-Silhak. Kakjeong's thoughts would be able to help broaden the base of Silhak's thoughts in the late Joseon Dynasty.
