국문 초록

본 논문은 키에르케고어의 ‘진지성’과 ‘용서’에 관한 고찰이다. 이 연구를 위해서 이 두 개념을 심도 있게 보여주고 있는 파벨 룽긴(Pavel Lounguine) 감독의 영화 <Остров, 섬>을 접목시킬 것이다. 이 연구의 목적은 급변하는 사회 속에서 분주히 살아가는 현대 그리스도인들에게 결여되고 있는 ‘진지성’에 대해 고찰해 보고자 한다. 리차드 포스터(Richard J. Foster)는 피상적이고 형식적인 신앙은 시대의 저주 거리라고 비판한 바가 있다. 기독교 신앙의 깊이는 죄와 용서에 대한 깊은 성찰과 진지성에서 찾을 수 있을 것이다. 기독교 신앙은 구원과 기쁨과 희망이 핵심을 이루지만, 여기에 이르기까지 죄와 용서에 대한 진지한 성찰이 없다면, 이 핵심적 가치들의 진정한 의미들을 깨달을 수 없을 것이다. 키에르케고어는 하나님 앞에서 ‘단독자’의 신앙을 강조하며 신앙의 ‘진지성’을 강조한 철학자이다. 이 진지성은 하나님 앞에서뿐만 아니라, 사람과 사람 사이의 관계성 속에서도 요구되는 중요한 덕목이다. 피상적인 신앙생활, 피상적인 대인관계, 피상적인 사고로 대변되는 현대 사회 가운데 진지함과 진솔함을 강조하는 키에르케고어의 사상과 영화 <Остров, 섬>은 우리 사회에 시사하는 바가 클 것이다.

영문 초록

This paper is an examination of Kierkegaard's concepts of 'seriousness' and 'forgiveness'. For the purpose of this study, I will use the film Ostrov (Island) by Pavel Lounguine, which shows these two concepts in depth. The purpose of this study is to examine the “seriousness” that is often lacking in the lives of modern Christians living in a rapidly changing society. Richard J. Foster has criticised superficial and formal faith as the curse of the age. The depth of the Christian faith is found in deep reflection and seriousness about sin and forgiveness. Salvation, joy, and hope are at the heart of the Christian faith, but without serious reflection on sin and forgiveness, the true meaning of these core values will not be realised. Kierkegaard was a philosopher who emphasised the 'seriousness' of faith, emphasising the faith of the 'the Single individual' before God. This seriousness is an important virtue that is required not only before God, but also in our relationships with one another. Kierkegaard's ideas and the film, which emphasise sincerity and authenticity in the midst of a modern society characterised by superficial faith, superficial interpersonal relationships and superficial thinking, have great relevance to our society.
