국문 초록

마리아에 대한 중재 사상은 성경부터 시작하여 교부시대, 중새 근현대사를 거치면서 신자들의 신앙 속에 끊임없이 변화와 발전을 지속 해왔다. 마리아의 중재 사상에 대한 초기 교부들의 가르침은 431년, 교회가 에페소 공의회에서 마리아를 하느님의 어머니로 선포하게 했다. 이러한 교회의 가르침은 그녀의 존재에 대한 인식에 변화를 주었다. 즉, 신앙인들은 그녀를 예수 그리스도의 중재자로 인식하고자 했다. 또한, 중세시대에 그리스도는 엄격한 심판자의 이미지를 지녔다면, 마리아는 그리스도의 마음을 달래는 중재자로서 인식하게 되었다. 그리고 19세기 마리아의 원죄 없이 잉태되신 교리 선포와 20세기 성모 승천 교의 선포는 신자들에게 중재자로서의 마리아에 대한 신앙과 신심을 크게 성장하게 했다. 즉 하늘과 땅 사이의 중재자로서의 마리아는 그리스도를 믿는 이들의 구원의 협력자로서 그 임무를 수행하고 있음을 교회가 인정하는 사건이었다. 또한, 마리아는 이러한 중재 역할을 위해 그리스도께서 세우신 교회 안에서 그리스도와 함께 구원의 협력자로서 현존하고 계신다.

영문 초록

The idea of Mary as a mediatrix has continued to change and develop in the faith of believers, starting from the Bible and going through the patristic era, medieval times, and modern and contemporary history. This prosperity and development have been proven through the teachings of many Church fathers and theologians in the history of the Catholic Church. The teachings of the early Church fathers on the idea of Mary's mediation led the Church to declare Mary the Mother of God at the Council of Ephesus in 431. These teachings changed the perception of her existence. That is, believers sought to recognize her as the mediatrix of Jesus Christ. This also affected their religious life. Also, in the Middle Ages, while Christ had the image of a strict judge, Mary was perceived as a mediatrix who appeased Christ's heart. The proclamation of the Immaculate Conception of Mary in the 19th century and the Assumption of the Virgin Mary in the 20th century led believers to grow significantly in their faith and devotion to Mary as a mediatrix. In other words, it was an event in which the Church recognized that Mary, as a mediatrix between heaven and earth, was carrying out her duties as a collaborator in the salvation of those who believe in Christ. In addition, Mary is a cooperator of salvation with Christ in the Church established by Christ for this mediating role.
