메타버스를 활용한 한국·싱가포르 국제교류 수업의 실천

국문 초록

본고는 메타버스를 활용한 한국과 싱가포르 간 국제교류 수업을 실천하고 메타버스 공간 속에서 벌어진 학습과 만남의 의미를 모색하고자 하였다. ‘우리가 만든 메타버스 공간에서 싱가포르 학생들에게 한국의 역사와 문화 소개하기’라는 목표를 달성하기 위해 학습에 활용 가능한 메타버스의 요소를 찾고, 이를 자율적 협동학습 모형에 적용하여 수업을 구안하였다. 메타버스의 요소를 자율적 협동학습 모형에 적용한 결과, 기존의 수업에 비해 주제 조사와 발표 방법에 대한 학습자 간 협의가 보다 강조되었다. 메타버스 속 자료 소개가 주로 웹 게시 형태로 이루어짐에 따라 이를 고려한 효과적인 정보 전달 전략에 많은 논의를 거쳤다. 또한 전체학습 - 소주제 - 미니주제 학습 공간이 각각 분리되어 있으면서 또한 연결되어있으므로, 학습자가 선택한 주제의 개성을 살리면서 전체 학습과 조화로운 공간 구성을 만들기 위한 모둠원 간의 의사소통이 크게 요구되었다. 수업 실행 결과 학습과 만남 두 가지 영역에서 의미를 찾아볼 수 있었다. 학습의 차원에서는 학습 공간 점유로 인한 학습 책무성 강화, 연결과 배제라는 양면적 공간 생성, 탐험과 방황을 오가는 학습의 자율성 등이 의미 있게 관찰되었다. 만남의 차원으로는 세계시민의 환대를 경험하는 메타버스 공간 속 초대자와 방문자로서의 인식, 수업 과정에서 학습자들이 발견한 새로운 환대의 아이디어를 확인할 수 있었다.

영문 초록

This study aims to practice international exchange classes between Korea and Singapore using the metaverse and to seek the meaning of learning and encounters in the metaverse space. As a result of the elements of the metaverse to the autonomous cooperative learning model, discussion between learners on topic research and presentation methods was more emphasized than in conventional classes. Since the introduction of data in the metaverse is mainly done in the form of web postings, effective information delivery strategies that take this into account have been discussed a lot. In addition, since the entire learning- sub-topic- mini-subject learning spaces are separated and connected, communication between group members was greatly required to create a harmonious space composition with overall learning while maintaining the individuality of the subject selected by the learner. As a result of class execution, in terms of learning, the strengthening of learning accountability due to the occupation of learning space, the creation of a two-sided space of connection and exclusion, and the autonomy of learning between exploration and wandering were meaningfully observed. As for the dimension of meeting, it was possible to confirm the aspects of hospitality experienced as hosts and guests and the new ideas of hospitality discovered by the learners.
