방치된 주유소의 적응적 재사용을 위한 생활플랫폼 사례연구

국문 초록

도시의 필수 기반시설인 주유소는 최근 수소나 전기 등 대체 에너지 연구와 기술 발전으로 인해 새로운 교통수단의 보급 및 인프라의 신속한 교체 압박 속에 있다. 이러한 경제적 부담은 주유소 공간의 폐쇄와 방치를 급증시키고 있다. 방치주유소는 오염으로부터의 환경적 위해와 범죄로부터의 사회적 위험과 도시이미지의 경관적 저하를 초래하기 때문에, 공적영역은 이를 도시문제로 보아 적극적이고 발 빠르게 대응하고 해결을 위해 노력해야 한다. 적응적 재사용은 지역의 유휴공간에서 보이는 심리적 불안 요소를 제거하고 물리적 불편을 개선함으로써 침체에 빠진 도시를 재활성화하기 위한 도구로, 지역민들의 시대적 요구에 맞춘 새로운 기능의 공간을 제공한다. 이에 본 연구는 여가문화시대 돌입에 따라 사람들의 일상 속에 급속히 파고들어 확장하고 있는 생활플랫폼 사례를 연구하였다. 본 연구의 목적은 시대에 맞는 생활플랫폼으로의 전환 관점에서 방치된 주유소 공간의 활용 가능성을 고찰하는 것이며, 이 결과를 반영한 적응적 재사용 계획의 기초적인 방향성을 제시하고자 하였다. 결론적으로 방치된 주유소는 영향요인 탐색, 설계기준 정립, 운영기준 마련의 단계를 밟아 충분히 적응적 재사용 가능한 공간이지만, 반드시 그 물리적 공간 특성을 활용하되 정서적 선호요인을 반영하여 개선해야 한다. 이렇게 생활플랫폼으로 변신한 주유소 공간은 지역민에게 방치주유소일 때 느낄 수 없었던 환경의 쾌적성과 접근의 안정성, 경험의 다양성을 제공함으로써 일상의 장소가 될 수 있다.

영문 초록

Gas stations, which are essential urban infrastructure, are under pressure to spread new transportation methods and quickly replace infrastructure due to recent research and technological advancements in alternative energy such as hydrogen and electricity. This economic burden is rapidly increasing the closure and neglect of gas station spaces. Because abandoned gas stations cause environmental harm from pollution, social risk from crime, and deterioration of the city's image, the public sector must view this as an urban problem and respond actively and quickly to resolve it. Adaptive reuse is a tool to revitalize a city in stagnation by eliminating psychological instability found in local idle space and improving physical inconveniences, providing a space with new functions tailored to the needs of local residents. Accordingly, this study studied the case of a lifestyle platform that is rapidly expanding into people's daily lives as we enter the leisure culture era. The purpose of this study was to consider the possibility of utilizing neglected gas station space from the perspective of conversion into a lifestyle platform appropriate for the times, and to present the basic direction of an adaptive reuse plan that reflects this result. In conclusion, abandoned gas stations are sufficiently adaptive and reusable spaces by taking steps to explore influencing factors, establish design standards, and prepare operating standards, but they must be improved by utilizing the characteristics of the physical space but reflecting emotional preference factors. The gas station space transformed into a lifestyle platform can become a place of daily life by providing local residents with environmental comfort, stability of access, and diversity of experiences that were not possible when it was an abandoned gas station.
