학교-가정연계 건강 자기옹호 프로그램이 발달장애 학생의 건강관리 및 자기결정에 미치는 영향

국문 초록

본 연구에서는 학교-가정연계 건강 자기옹호 프로그램을 개발하고 이를 발달장애 학생에게 적용함으로써 학생의 건강관리 역량 강화를 위한 건강지식, 건강증진 행동, 건강관리 목표달성과 자기결정에 미치는 영향을 조사하였다. 이를 위해 고등학교에 재학 중인 발달장애 학생 총 14명과 그 부모, 특수교사 4명이 본 연구에 참여하였다. 학교-가정연계 건강 자기옹호 프로그램은 건강관리 핵심 영역에 대한 기초 및 심화 수업, 각 영역별 건강관리 목표 및 계획 수립을 포함한 총 15회기로 구성되었으며, 단일집단 사전-사후 설계를 적용하여 연구에 참여한 발달장애 학생들을 대상으로 5개월 동안 실시되었다. 프로그램 종료 후 중재효과를 확인하기 위해 종속변인들에 대한 사전검사와 사후검사의 차이를 분석하였다. 그 결과 본 프로그램은 학생의 건강지식, 건강증진 행동에 긍정적인 영향을 미쳤으며, 참여한 학생들의 93%가 기대 수준 이상에서 건강관리 목표를 달성한 것으로 나타났다. 본 프로그램은 또한 학생이 평정한 자기결정에도 긍정적인 영향을 미쳤으나 부모와 교사가 평정한 자기결정에는 유의한 차이가 나타나지 않았다. 본 연구를 통해 학교-가정연계 건강 자기옹호 프로그램이 발달장애 학생의 건강관리 및 자기결정에 미치는 긍정적인 영향과 건강 자기옹호 역량 강화를 위한 후속 연구의 필요성을 확인하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to develop the health self-advocacy program with school-home connection for students with developmental disabilities and investigate its effects on knowledge, behavior, and goal-attainment regarding health care, as well as its impact on self-determination in students with developmental disabilities. For this purpose, 14 high school students with developmental disabilities and the students’ parents, and four special education teachers participated in this study. The health self-advocacy program with school-home connection, which consisted of 15 sessions that included basic and advanced lessons per each health care domain, was implemented for five months using one-group pretest-posttest design. After the program was terminated, the differences between the pre-test and post-test on dependent variables were analyzed to examine the effects of the program. The results of the analysis showed that the program had statistically positive effects on health knowledge and health promotion behavior; furthermore, 93% of the students met their health care goals at a higher than expected level. In addition, the program had positive effects on promoting self-determination rated by the students. However, there were no statistically significant differences in self-determination rated by the parents and teachers. This study confirmed that the health self-advocacy program with school-home connection was effective in promoting health care and self-determination in students with developmental disabilities along with a necessity for future study to enhance health self-advocacy.
