수사적 표현을 통해 본 성리학적 문학관의 수용 양상

국문 초록

본고에서는 성리학적 문학관의 수용과 이해를 실증적으로 파악하기 위해 李詹(1345~1405)의 사례를 소개했다. 이첨은 여말선초 대표적인 문인 관료이다. 그가 성리학의 근원을 탐구하고 다채로운 문체를 창작했다는 선행 연구를 계승하되, 그가 성리학을 이해했던 구체적인 경로와 성리학적 문학관을 드러낸 실제 사례를 분석한 것이다. 이첨이 읽은 성리학 서적 중에서 문헌 자료를 통해 확인할 수 있었던 것은,『擊壤集』·『性理群書句解』·『近思錄』·朱熹의문집·『伊洛淵源錄』이다. 왕조의 교체를 겪고, 서적의 수용과 간행이 활발하지 않은 시기임에도 다양한 성리학 서적을 접했음을 알 수 있다. 이를 바탕으로 1370년 전후로 추정되는 <朴判事日本行錄跋>과 1396년에 쓴 <漁樵唱和詩序>를 분석해 보았다. <毛詩序>와 <詩集傳序>를 인용하고, 한유의 <荆潭唱和詩序>에서 수사적 표현을 활용하여 성리학적 문학관을 효과적으로 드러내고 있었다. 이를 통해 이첨이 성리학과 성리학적 문학관을 이해했던 구체적인 경로를 확인했고, 그가 구사한 표현의 출처가 한유의 산문에 있었다는 것도 알 수 있었다. 이 논의가 좀 더 설득력이 있으려면, 이첨이 읽었던 성리학 서적이 그의 창작에 어떤 영향을 끼쳤는지 폭넓게 살펴볼 필요가 있을 것이다.

영문 초록

As a method to empirically examine how neo-Confucian literary views were accepted and understood by scholars of late Koryeo and early Joseon dynasties, this study dealt with Lee Cheom(李詹, 1345~1405). Lee was a leading scholar in those days. The fact that Lee had explored neo- Confucianism and created unique colorful writing styles has been discovered by previous researches. This study specifically analyzed the path through which he had come to understand neo-Confucianism and the cases where his neo-Confucian literary views were revealed. Through various bibliographical documents, this study could identify that Lee read books like Gyeokyangjip(『擊壤集』), SeongrigunseoGuhe(『性理群書句解』), Geunsarok(『近思錄』), writings of Juhi(朱熹), Yirak- yeonwonrok(『伊洛淵源錄』), etc. We can recognize that, even if it was not easy to publish books and, thus, acquire them, Lee could access various good books. Based on such exploration, this study analyzed what Lee wrote: ‘Parkpansa Ilbonhaengrokbal’[<朴判事日本行錄跋>, ‘Excerpts of Records of Judge Park's Travel to Japan’] written in around 1370 and ‘Eochochang- hwasiseo’[<漁樵唱和詩序>, ‘Preface to Eochochanghwa Poem’] in 1396. In these two writings, Lee effectively revealed his neo-Confucian literary views by citing ‘Mosiseo’(<毛詩序>) and ‘Sijipjeonseo’(<詩集傳序>), and using rhetorical expressions of ‘Hyeongdamchanghwasiseo’(<荆潭唱和詩序>) of Han Yu(韓愈; 768~824), a famous poet of Tang dynasty. Through such searches, this study could identify the concrete path through which Lee formed his neo-Confucianism and neo-Confucian literary views, and that his expressions were greatly influenced by writings of Han Yu.
