고창 소리문화의 발전방안

국문 초록

본 논문은 고창지역의 소리문화 발전방안에 대하여 고찰한 것이다. 이 주제를 수행하기 위해서 본 연구자는 고창이라고 하는 소규모 지역에서 활동하는 젊은 전통 판소리 공연예술가들의 진솔한 의견을 청취하다. 공연예술가들의 활동 여건과 지역사회의 물적토대를 고려하지 않은 발전방안은 공허할 수 있기 때문 이다. 이들의 견해를 종합하면 이른바 셀럽(Celeb)급 명창의 초빙, 공연과 창작활 동의 지원확대, 실내악단 규모의 단체활동 여건마련 등이다. 또 고창지역이 역사적 자산으로 보유한 전통예술 관련 인물 또는 인프라를 얼마나 효율적으로 운하고 있는지를, 최초의 여성명창인 진채선과 국내 유일 의 고창판소리박물관을 중심으로 살펴보았다. 그 결과 진채선 인물에 대한 연구 및 콘텐츠 강화 차원에서 장르를 뛰어넘는 ‘공모전’ 시행, 판소리박물관의 리뉴 얼과 프로그램 강화가 시급한 사업이라고 보았다. 판소리사에 특별한 업적과 유산으로 남은 신재효와 진채선은 고창이 낳은 역사적 인물이다. 중요한 것은 역사적 인물을 배출한 고창의 현재적 여건과 토양이다. 신재효와 진채선이 살았던 시대와 현재의 고창을 비교하는 것이 쉬운 일은 아니지만, 현재 지역사회에서 활동하는 공연예술가들이 최소한 그들의 후예라는 점에서, 이 지역 전통예술가들의 위상과 과제를 점검할 필요가 있다. 고창은 선대의 유산을 기반으로 더 매력적인 콘텐츠를 창출할 수 있는 역사적, 예술적 기반이 확고한 지역이기 때문이다.

영문 초록

This study was planned to find ways to develop sori culture of Gochang area. For this study, it was necessary to collect ideas of young traditional artists of that small area. Their ideas are very important because the plans could be vain if the physical conditions for their activities and the material basis of their local community are not satisfied. What they desperately want are much more frequent performances of master sori artists, expansions of support for their sori performances and creative activities, and comfortable conditions for group activities of their chamber-scale orchestras. The second point of this paper is how effectively the sori-related people of the area have used their historical properties and infrastructure of traditional arts centering around Jin Chaeseon, the first female sori artist, and Gochang Pansori Museum, the only pansori museum in Korea. The results show that it is desirable to open a contest to intensify the study and cultural contents of Jin Chaeseon beyond genres, renewal of the museum, and more diversified programs. Shin Jaehyo and Jin Chaeseon are the greatest historical figures from Gochang who accomplished unique achievements in the pansori world. One of the most important things is to check the area's current situation and conditions. Though the old times when Shin and Jin lived and current Gochang are not comparable, it is necessary to check the status and tasks of the traditional artists of the area, because they are descendents of Shin and Jin. One more reason Gochang has to be strongly supported is it is a great region having firm historical and artistical infrastructure that could be helpful creating much more attractive cultural contents.
