범죄 피해자의 심리적 회복에 영향을 미치는 요인

국문 초록

본 연구는 범죄피해자의 주관적 불편감과 우울감에 대한 장기추적 연구결과이다. 2014년부터 2019년 사이 강력범죄피해자 트라우마 통합지원기관인 스마일센터에 등록한 범죄 피해자 중 연구목적의 연락과 평가에 동의하고, 2022년 연구를 위한 추적이 가능한 사람들을 대상으로 반구조화된 설문지와 우울증 척도를 실시하였으며, 수집된 131명의 자료는 일원분산분석을 사용해 분석되었다. 분석 결과 성별과 강력범죄유형에 따른 주관적 불편감이나 우울감의 차이는 없었으나 연령별 주관적 불편감에 차이가 있었다. 주관적 불편감 점수는 20 세~39세가 가장 낮았으며, 40세~59세가 가장 높았다. 트라우마에 대한 대처방식에서는 능동적 대처방식과 수동적 대처방식을 사용한 집단이 기타 대처방식을 사용한 집단보다 주관적불편감과 우울감에서 더 낮은 점수를 보였으며, 특히 능동적 대처방식을 사용한 집단과 기타대처방식 사용 집단 사이의 점수 차이가 가장 큰 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구는 국내에서 강력범죄피해자를 대상으로 한 양적 연구를 찾아보기 힘든 실정에서 최장 9년에서 최소 3년간의장기추적으로 이들의 대처방식과 주관적 불편감 및 우울감의 관계를 살피고 회복요인을 알아보았다는 데 그 의의가 있다. 연구의 결과는 범죄 사건 이후 피해자가 어떤 대처방식을 사용하는지에 따라 트라우마로부터의 회복이 촉진될 수 있음을 시사한다. 마지막으로, 본 연구의 제한점과 후속 연구를 위한 제언이 논의되었다.

영문 초록

This study was the result of a long term follow-up research on subjective discomfort and depression of victims of violent crime. For this, we analyzed data of 131 victims registered at the Smile Center, the integrated supporting center for violent crime victims between 2014 and 2019 who agreed to participate in the study. Results from on way ANOVA indicated that there was no difference in subjective discomfort or depression according to gender and violent crime type, but there was a significant difference in subjective discomfort by age. The subjective discomfort score was the lowest in the age group of 20 to 39 years, and the highest in the age group of 40 to 59 years. Regarding trauma coping strategies, the active and passive coping groups showed lower scores in subjective discomfort and depression than the other coping group, and especially, the difference in scores between the active and other coping groups was significant large. This study has meaning in that long-term follow-up of up to 9 years and at least 3 years was conducted to examine the relationship between their coping methods and subjective feelings of discomfort and depression, and to find recovery factors. The results suggest that recovery from trauma can be facilitated by the type of coping strategies used by victims after a crime. Finally, limitations of this study and suggestions for further research were also discussed.
