의미 네트워크(Semantic Network)를 활용한 중국 내 한국드라마 인식 분석

국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 의미 네트워크 분석을 활용하여 넷플릭스 오리지널 <더 글로리>를 비롯한 한국 드라마에 대한 중국 시청자의 인식을 분석하는 것이다. 2022년 12월과 2023년 3월 나누어 OTT 플랫폼에서 공개한 <더 글로리>는 드라마 공개 방식, 소재, 내용 및 주연 배우 등 각 방면에서 화제성을 보이며 넷플릭스 글로벌 탑10에 선정된 드라마이다. 반면 중국은 현재 넷플릭스 서비스가 이루어지지 않은 국가임에도 불구하고 오리지널 드라마 <글로리>는 중국에서 높은 인기를 얻은 한국 드라마이다. 중국 최대 포털 바이두(百度)에서 ‘한국 드라마 <글로리>(韓劇 黑暗榮耀)’ 키워드로 관련 기사를 수집하여 의미 네트워크(Semantic Network) 분석을 수행하였다. 분석 결과, 크게 네 가지 주제군을 형성하였다. 첫째, ‘드라마 정보’ 이다. 주연 배우, 학교폭력 소재, 스토리, 주제, 감독, 시나리오 작가 등 드라마 <글로리>에 관한 전반적인 정보를 소개하고 있었다. 둘째, ‘드라마의 차별화된 특징’이다. <글로리>는 기존 학교폭력 소재 드라마, 영화와 달리 피해자가 직접 나서서 가해자를 응징함으로써 시청자에게 복수의 카타르시스와 통쾌감을 느끼게 한다고 인식하였다. 또한, 가해자의 악행과 피해자의 참상을 충격적으로 그려냈다고 평가하였다. 셋째, ‘한국 드라마의 미국 드라마화’이다. <글로리>는 글로벌 OTT 플랫폼 넷플릭스에서 제작한 오리지널 드라마이다. 중국 시청자는 <글로리>가 기존 한국드라마가 보여주는 고유의 특징은 퇴색되어 가고, 자극적이고 폭력적인 미국 드라마화 되어 가고 있다고 인식하고 있었다. 넷째, ‘과감한 한국 드라마’ 이다. 중국 시청자는 한국 드라마가 심각한 사회문제도 소재로 활용하는 과감한 제작 태도가 한류 유행의 원인으로 인식하고 있었다. OTT 플랫폼을 통해 전 세계가 실시간으로 한국 드라마를 즐기는 신한류 시대에 중국 시청자는 한국 드라마의 신선한 소재와 재미, 주제의식, 과감한 제작을 높게 평가하였지만 글로벌 OTT 플랫폼에 의존한 제작 형태로 인해 점차 미국 드라마화 되는 경향을 보인다고 우려하는 인식을 보였다. 세계화에 발맞춰 글로벌 지향적인 드라마 제작 추세에 중국 시청자의 인식은 한국 드라마 고유의 특징이 퇴색되는 것을 우려하는 인식은 현재 한국 제작자가 참고할 만한 시사점이라고 할 수 있다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to analyze Chinese viewers' perceptions of Korean dramas, including Netflix's original , using semantic network analysis. , which was released on the OTT platform in December 2022 and March 2023, is a drama that was selected as the top 10 of Netflix's global list, showing its popularity in various fields such as the method, material, content, and main actors of the drama. On the other hand, despite China's current lack of Netflix services, the original drama “Glory” is a highly popular Korean drama in China. In Baidu, China's largest portal, related articles were collected under the keyword of “Korean Drama ” and semantic network analysis was performed. As a result of the analysis, four main topic groups were formed. First, it is 'drama information'. It introduced overall information on the drama “Glory,” including the main actor, school violence material, story, theme, director, and screenwriter. Second, it is the 'differentiated characteristics of drama'. Unlike existing school violence dramas and movies, “Glory” recognized that the victim directly stepped up and punished the perpetrator, making viewers feel plural catharsis and exhilaration. In addition, it was evaluated that it shockingly depicted the perpetrator's evil deeds and the victim's misery. Third, it is 'the American drama of Korean dramas'. Glory is an original drama produced by Netflix, a global OTT platform. Chinese viewers recognized that the unique characteristics of existing Korean dramas are fading and becoming a provocative and violent American drama. Fourth, it is 'Bold Korean Drama'. Chinese viewers recognized the bold production attitude of Korean dramas using serious social problems as the subject of the Korean Wave. In the new Korean Wave era, where the world enjoys Korean dramas in real time through the OTT platform, Chinese viewers praised the fresh material, fun, theme consciousness, and bold production of Korean dramas, but they were concerned that they tended to become American dramas. In line with globalization, Chinese viewers' perception of the global-oriented drama production trend is that the unique characteristics of Korean dramas are fading, which is an implication for Korean producers to refer to.
