한국 시집의 외국어 번역 및 해외 발간 현황

국문 초록

이 연구의 목적은 한국의 시집이 외국어로 번역된 현황을 파악하고자 진행되었다. 한국문학번역원의 번역시집 목록을 바탕으로 시기별, 번역어별, 시인과 시집별 현황을 파악하고, 번역시집 목록을 공신력 있는 자료로 확립하는 방안을 제안하고자 하였다. 먼저 시기별 현황을 살펴보면, 1970년대 이후 번역시집의 출간이 매우 가파르게 증가하였음을 알 수 있다. 이에 따라 번역어와 출간 국가가 폭넓게 펼쳐졌음을 짐작할 수 있다. 시집을 살펴본 결과 근현대 시인으로서 번역시집이 있는 시인은 211명이며 출간 횟수는 421번이었다. 그중 고은이 53번 번역시집을 출간하여 압도적인 우위를 차지하고 있으며, 그 뒤로 윤동주가 22번, 김소월이 21번 번역시집을 출간하여 비교적 해외에 많이 알려진 시인임을 알 수 있었다. 또한 해외에 가장 많이 소개된 시집은 윤동주의 『하늘과 바람과 별과 시』로 10개 언어로 번역되어 10개국에서 20번 번역 출간되었다. 김소월의 『진달래꽃』, 한용운의 『님의 침묵』, 고은의 『만인보』은 각각 11번 번역 출간되었다. 이 연구에서 활용한 한국문학번역원의 번역시집 목록은 이미 방대한 자료가 활용하기 쉽게 정리되어 있는 자료이다. 이에 대해 일부 보충해야 할 부분과 자료 정리를 다소 보완하여 항시적으로 공개되어 있으면, 앞으로 이 분야의 연구가 더욱 활발하게 진행되는 데 더 중요하게 활용될 것으로 사료된다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to understand the current status of Korean poetry collections translated into foreign languages. Based on the list of translated poems of the Korea Literature Translation Institute, the current status of each period, translated word, poet and collection of poems was identified, and a plan to establish the list of translated poems as a credible source was proposed. First, looking at the status by period, it can be seen that the publication of translated poetry has increased very steeply since the 1970s. As a result, it can be assumed that the translation language and country of publication have been widely spread. As a result of examining poetry books, there are 211 poets who have translated poetry books as modern and contemporary poets, and the number of publications was 421 times. Among them, Ko Eun published 53 translated poetry books and has an overwhelming advantage, followed by Yun Dong-ju 22 and Kim So-wol published 21 translated poetry books, indicating that they are relatively well-known overseas poets. In addition, the most introduced poetry collection abroad is Yoon Dong-ju's Sky, Wind, Stars and Poetry, which has been translated into 10 languages and published 20 times in 10 countries. Kim So-wol's Azalea Flower, Han Yong-un's My Lover's Silence, and Ko Eun's Maninbo have been translated and published 11 times each. The list of translated poems of the Korea Literature Translation Institute used in this study is a data that has already been organized for ease of use. In this regard, if the part to be supplemented and the data arrangement are somewhat supplemented and constantly disclosed, it is considered that it will be used more importantly for more active research in this field in the future.
