국문 초록

이 연구의 목적은 우리 나라와 미국의 교양 농업 교육 프로그램 내용 분석을 통해 우리 나라의 실과 교육에 주는 시사점을 구명하는 데 있었다. 연구의 목적을 달성하기 위한 연구 방법으로 비교 준거를 설정하고 비교 준거에 따라 교양농업 교육 프로그램의 내용을 비교 분석하였다. 내용 분석 문헌은 우리나라와 미국의 초등학교교양 농업 관련 내용을 포함하고 있는 국가수준의 교육내용 기준, 교육과정과 교재로 한정하였으며 개발 기관은 국가 수준의 기관에서 개발한 것으로 한정하였다. 문서의 분석 결과 우리 나라의 실과 교육에 주는 함의와 시사점은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 교실 농업 프로그램의 교육 내용을 형식면에서 2개 학년씩 통합하여 제시할 필요가 있으며 수준을 구체적으로 제시할 것이 요구된다. 초등학교의 경우 학년군 단위로 내용 기준을 제시할 필요가 있으며 중학교와 고등학교는 전체로 제시하는 것도 무난할 것이다. 둘째, 우리나라 실과 교육과정 개발에서 영역 특수적 접근보다 영역 통합적 접근이 필요하다. 실과 내용영역을 강조하기 보다는 농업과 식생활을 통합하는 등 영역 통합적 접근은 장기적으로 반드시 필요할 것이다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to investigate the implications for practical arts education in Korea through the analysis of the contents of agricultural literacy education programs in Korea and the United States. Comparative criteria were set to achieve the purpose of the study, wherein the system and contents of agricultural literacy education programs were compared and analyzed according to these criteria. As a result of the analysis, implications for practical arts education in Korea are as follows. First, it is necessary to present the educational contents of the agricultural literacy education programs in two grades in terms of formality and to address the level in detail. In the case of elementary schools, it is necessary to present content standards by grade group, while it would be effortless to present middle and high schools in general. Second, in the development of practical arts curriculum in Korea, an integrated area approach is needed rather than one in a specific area. Rather than emphasizing the practical arts and content areas, such an integrated approach to areas (e.g., integrating agriculture and diet) will be essential in the long run. Based on the hereby demonstrated results, the present paper offers the following suggestions. First, research on the curriculum of various countries that might offer new ideas in elementary agricultural education is continuously needed. Second, it is rather difficult to explore the characteristics of current elementary agricultural education being conducted in the curriculum document. Therefore, studies on the actual cases of elementary agricultural education in these countries are needed.
