국문 초록

이 연구에서는 나무를 이용한 메이커교육 프로그램을 개발하여 초등학생에게 적용함으로써 초등학생의 자기주도적 학습능력과 창의적 문제해결력에 미치는 영향을 검증하는데 목적이 있다. 연구 대상은 D시에 소재하고 있는 초등학교 4학년 2개 학급을 대상으로 하였으며, 나무를 이용한 메이커교육 프로그램을 개발하여, 실험집단을 대상으로 총 10차시의 수업을 실시하였다. 검사 도구는 자기주도적 학습능력과 창의적 문제해결력 검사지를 사용하였다. 자료분석에는 SPSSWIN 프로그램을 사용하였고, 실험집단과 비교집단의 자기주도적 학습능력과 창의적 문제 해결력 차이를 검증하기 위해 t검증을 실시하였다. 이 연구를 통하여 얻어진 주요 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 실험집단이 자기주도적 학습능력의 모든 하위영역의 평균에서 비교집단에 비해 유의한 차이로 향상되었고, 나무를 이용한 메이커교육 프로그램이 초등학생의 자기주도적 학습능력 향상에 유의한 긍정적 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 실험집단이 창의적 문제해결력의 모든 하위영역의 평균에서 비교집단에 비해 유의한 차이로 향상되었고, 나무를 이용한 메이커교육 프로그램이 초등학생의 창의적 문제해결력 향상에 유의한 긍정적 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 나무를 이용한 메이커교육 프로그램의 정성적 분석 결과, 학생들이 프로그램에 주도적으로 교육에 참여하였고 자신이 만든 창작물에 대한 자부심과 애착이 생기는 모습을 보였다. 따라서 나무를 이용한 메이커교육 프로그램이 초등학생의 자기주도적 학습능력과 창의적 문제해결력에 긍정적인 영향을 미쳤음을 알 수 있다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to verify the possible effects of the maker education program using wood on elementary school students’ abilities to creatively solve problems and develop self-direct learning abilities. The subjects of this paper were two fourth grade classes in an elementary school located in D city who participated in 10 courses. As test tools, self-direct learning abilities and creative problem-solving abilities were used. The SPSSWIN program was acquired for data analysis, and t-tests were performed to verify possible differences in self-direct learning abilities and creative problem-solving skills between the experimental and comparative groups. The main research results of the present analysis are three-fold. First, the average of all sub-areas of self-direct learning abilities in the experimental group improved significantly compared to the comparative group. In other words, the maker education program using wood had a positive effect on the improvement of elementary students’ self-direct learning abilities. Second, the average of all sub-areas of creative problem-solving abilities in the experimental group improved by a considerable difference compared to the comparative group. It was found that the maker education program using wood had a positive effect on improving students’ creative problem-solving abilities. Third, in the maker education program using wood, students took the lead in participating in the program and showed pride and attachment to their creations. Therefore, the present analysis concluded that the maker education program using wood had a positive effect on both self-direct learning and creative problem-solving abilities of elementary school students.
