문화적 거리와 방한관광수요의 영향관계

국문 초록

본 연구는 문화적 거리와 방한 관광수요의 인과관계를 실증적으로 규명하는데 초점을 맞추고 있다. 연구목적을 달성하기 위하여 글로버 프로젝트(GLOBE Project)의 9가지 문화차원을 바탕으로 유교아시아 문화권에 속한 한국과 남아시아 문화권에 속한 국가들의 문화적 거리를 측정하고, 문화적 거리와 방한 관광수요의 인과관계를 실증적으로 분석하였다. 본 연구에서는 방한관광수요와 문화적 거리의 영향 관계를 다중회귀모형과 중력모형의 두 가지 연구모형으로 추정하였다. 두 연구모형 모두 회귀식 전체에 대한 유의성과 추정 회귀계수의 신뢰가 확인되었다. 설명력에서는 중력모형이 다중회귀모형보다 높은 것으로 나타났다. 한국과 남아시아 문화권의 GLOBE 9가지 문화차원의 관행점수를 비교한 결과 한국의 경우 권력거리, 제도적 집단주의 및 소속집단주의가 비교적 높은 점수를 반영하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 반면 남아시아 문화권에 속한 사회는 소속집단주의, 권력거리 및 인간지향성 차원에서 높은 문화적 관행점수를 반영하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. KSI(Kogut and Singh Index) 방법으로 문화적 거리 측정 결과 한국의 문화는 인도네시아 문화와 가장 가까운 것으로 분석되었다. 두 연구모형 분석결과 한국과 남아시아 문화권 국가들 사이의 문화적 거리는 방한 관광수요에 양(+)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타나 한국을 방문하는 남아시아 문화권 관광객들에게는 문화적 거리감은 관광 경험을 향상시키는 긍정적인 요소라는 것을 규명하였다.

영문 초록

This study focuses on empirically Analysis the causality between cultural distance and tourism the demand of tourist to Korea. To achieve the purpose of this study, It was measured the cultural distance between Korea, belonging to the Confucian Asia cultural cluster, and countries belonging to the Southern Asia cultural cluster, based on the nine cultural dimensions of the GLOBE Project, and empirically analyzed the causal relationship between cultural distance and inbound tourism demand on Korea. In this study, the impact of cultural distance on inbound tourism demand was estimated using two research models: multiple regression and gravity models. Both models confirmed the significance of the entire regression equation and the reliability of the estimated regression coefficients. In the explanatory power of the research model, the gravity model was found to be higher than the multiple regression model. Comparing the GLOBE nine cultural dimensions practice Score between Korea and Southern Asia cultural cluster, it was found that Korea had relatively high scores in power distance, institutional collectivism, and in-group collectivism. On the other hand, societies belonging to the Southern Asia cultural cluster reflected high cultural practice scores in in-group collectivism, power distance, and human orientation dimensions. The results of measuring cultural distance using the KSI method showed that Korean culture was the closest to Indonesian culture. Furthermore, the cultural distance between Korea and Southern Asia cultural cluster countries was found to have a positive impact on inbound tourism demand. It can be inferred that for Southern Asia cultural cluster tourists visiting Korea, cultural distance is a positive factor that enhances the tourism experience.
