《狄公案》의 문화콘텐츠 변용 양상 고찰

국문 초록

문화산업계 전반에서 OSMU(One Source Multi Use)라는 용어가 보편화된 지 오래다. 반지의 제왕이나 해리포터, 마블의 영화들이 대표적인 예이다. 문화콘텐츠를 개발하기 위해 고전을 탐색하는 시도가 계속되는 상황에서 고전 연구자가 해야 할 일은 이를 위해 고전을 지속해서 해독하고 분석하는 일일 것이다. 《狄公案》은 당대의 명재상 狄仁傑을 주인공으로 한 19세기 말의 장편공안소설로 네덜란드의 외교관이자 학자인 로베르트 반 훌릭(Robert Hans van Gulik)의 번역에 의해 서양에 알려지고 이를 토대로 한 그의 창작활동에 말미암아 적인걸을 중국의 셜록 홈스로 인식하게 하였다. 본 연구는 《狄公案》과 반 훌릭이 창작한 소설이 어떻게 현대의 문화콘텐츠로 변용되었는지 그 양상을 살펴보는 데에 목적이 있다. 《狄公案》을 소재로 한 문화콘텐츠는 다양한 분야에 걸쳐 있으므로 본 연구에서 주목할 대상은 영화와 드라마와 같은 영상매체로 제한한다. 《狄公案》과 관련된 영상 콘텐츠는 크게 드라마, 극장 영화, 웹 영화로 나누어 볼 수 있다. 모든 작품에서 공통으로 드러나는 것은 등장인물인 적인걸이 판관의 역할보다는 탐정의 역할이 두드러지게 나타난다는 점이다. 이는 청대의 《狄公案》이 아니라 반 훌릭이 창작한 《大唐狄公案》의 영향을 더 받았다고 할 수 있는 것이다. 특징적인 것은 2018년을 기준으로 극장 영화와 웹 영화의 제작 빈도가 바뀐다는 점이다. 徐克 감독의 극장판 적인걸 시리즈가 마무리되고, 이후의 웹 영화는 판타지적인 요소가 훨씬 많이 첨가되어 일 년에 수 편씩 제작되는 경향을 보인다.

영문 초록

It has been long ago that the term of OSMU(One Source Multi Use) is universalized throughout the cultural industry. The Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, and Marvel movies are representative examples. In the situation in which the attempt to seek classics to develop cultural contents has continued, the thing that the classic researcher should do is to continue the interpretation and analysis of classic to this end. 《Digong case》 is the feature Gong'an novel in the end of 19th century with the main character of Di Ren Jie, an able premier at that time, and known by the translation of Robert Hans Van Gulik, Dutch diplomat and scholar, and his creation work based on this has made people recognize Di Ren Jie as Chinese Sherlock HolmesThe purpose of this study is to review the aspect of how 《Digong case》 and the novel created by Van Gulik have been transformed to contemporary cultural contents. As the cultural contents with the theme of 《Digong case》 exist throughout various fields, the targets focused in this study are restricted to video media such as film and drama. The video contents related with 《Digong case》 can be roughly classified into drama, theater movie and web movie. The things that are commonly revealed in all the works are that the character Di Ren Jie plays the role of a detective rather than a judge. This can be said it is more influenced by 《Celebrated Cases of Judge Dee》 created by Van Gulik rather than 《Digong case》 in Qing period. It can be characterized that the production frequency of theater movie and web movie has changed since 2018. After Schieker's theatrical version of Di Ren Jie series is finished, a lot more fantasy elements are added in subsequent web films and several films are tend to be produced a year.
