有關上古漢語重疊式聯綿詞的考察

국문 초록

고대 중국어의 어휘는 단음절어가 우세를 점하고 있었다. 그러나 《詩經》, 《楚辭》등 先秦 시기의 저서를 살펴보면 적지 않은 이음절어를 발견할 수 있다. 이음절어 어휘 중에서도 연면어(聯綿詞)는 고대부터 현재까지 많은 학자들에 의해 정의, 분류, 성격, 기원 등 다방면으로 연구되어 왔으며, 현재까지 연면어의 기원과 관련해 많은 연구성과와 다양한 의견이 축적되어 왔다. 이러한 연구 성과 가운데 연면어가 重疊에서 기원했다는 가설이 있는데, 이는 대부분의 학자들이 연면어 두 음절 간의 음운관계에 근거하여 重疊式 연면어를 분류한 것으로 孙景涛(2008)의 논의가 대표적이다. 그는 기존연구에서 나아가 현대한어방언(現代漢語方言), 친족어(親族語)를 근거로 上古漢語의 重疊式 연면어를 逆向重叠, 顺向重叠, 裂变重叠, 完全重叠으로 분류하였다. 이에 본고는 孙景涛(2008)가 분류한 상고한어의 네 가지 중첩 유형 중 逆向重叠, 顺向重叠, 裂变重叠에 대해 살펴보는 것에 목적을 두고, 王念孫의 《廣雅疏證》에서 총 1,211개 연면어를 수집하고, 孙景涛(2008)의 이론에 맞는 연면어를 선별하였다. 이와 동시에 관련 문헌자료와 기존 연구 성과 등을 바탕으로 그가 분류한 네 가지 중첩 유형을 검토하였다. 본고의 검토 결과 孙景涛(2008)가 분류한 네 가지 유형 중 일부는 재고가 필요함을 확인하고, 특히 연면어가 중첩에서 기원하였다는 가설에 대해 보완이 필요하다는 점에 대해 상세히 논의하였다.

영문 초록

As we know, monosyllabic forms occupied a dominant position in the Old Chinese period. However, there are amount of bisyllabic forms in the texts of the pre-Qin period, such as Shijing(《詩經》) and Chuci(《楚辭》). Among them, including a lot of binomial word forms. Since ancient times, scholars have been studying the definition, classification, features and origin of the binomial word forms. In particular, there are various opinions on the origin of the binomial word forms, and many research achievements have been made. Among them, there is a theory that the binomial forms originated from reduplication. Most scholars classified the reduplicative binomes based on the phonological relationship between the two syllables of the binomes. But Sun, Jingtao(2008) divided them into retrogressive reduplication, progressive reduplication, fission reduplication and total reduplication based on the Chinese dialects and cognate language. This study aims to verify whether the four reduplicative types of the Old Chinese classified by Sun, Jingtao(2008) are reasonable. Therefore, this paper collected 1,211 binomes in the Guangyashuzheng, and selected the binomes that fit the theory of Sun, Jingtao(2008). At the same time, in this study, we will only observe his three types of the reduplicative binomes according to the text data and existing research results. They are retrogressive reduplication, progressive reduplication, and fission reduplication. The results of this study confirmed that his classification needed to be reconsidered, and in particular, the need for supplementation was discussed in detail for the hypothesis that the binomes originated from reduplication.
