영화 <국두(菊豆)>에서 나타나는 욕망과 금기

국문 초록

장이머우의 영화 <국두>는 류헝의 소설 「푸시푸시」를 개작하여 만든 영화이다. 이 글의 연구목적은 두 편의 작품 비교를 통하여 영화의 주제의식과 서사구조를 탐색하는 데에 있다. 영화 <붉은 수수밭>과 <홍등>이 제작된 시기의 중간에 자리하고 있는 <국두>를 살펴본다는 것은 장이머우 영화의 미학적 흐름을 살펴볼 수 있는 하나의 중요한 지점이라고 할 수 있다. 본 연구는 이러한 지점에 주목하면서 <국두>가 가진 영화적 가치를 조명하였다. 첫째, 소설에서 나타나는 톈칭의 성에 대한 자각과 성적 욕망, 즉 원시적 생명력의 근원이 영화에서는 성적 욕망으로 전환되면서 나타나는 서사의 차이에 대하여 살펴보았다. 둘째, 염색공장의 폐쇄적인 공간과 톈칭의 쥐더우 훔쳐보기, 햇살과 역광의 의미를 분석하였다. 셋째, 봉건예교의 폭력에 관한 서사를 살펴보았다. 사당과 색채를 통하여 봉건예교의 형상화를 탐색하였다. 염색을 통하여 ‘물들이기’가 봉건예교의 주입을 은유하는 것임을 밝혔다. 특히 영화에서 나타나는 몇 가지 장치를 통하여 톈바이가 봉건예교의 계승자임을 확인하였다. 넷째, 금기의 위반, 즉 근친상간과 살부(殺父)에 대하여 다루고 있다. 쥐더우와 톈칭의 금기 위반과 함께 톈바이가 행한 살부의 의미는 무엇인지 살펴보았다.

영문 초록

Zhang Yimou(张艺谋)’s movie is the one that was made by adapting Liu Heng’s novel 『Fuxi Fuxi』. This writing is aimed to inquire into the narrative structure of a movie through comparing two works. What examines , which is positioned in the middle of the period that and were produced, is an important point available for checking an aesthetic flow in Zhang Yimou’s movie. With paying attention to this point, this study shed light on the cinematic value that Judou> has. To this end, the thematic consciousness in the movie was explored through the narrative comparison between original novel and movie, namely, through the setting of space-time backgrounds and characters, a variation of the narrative, and the cinematic techniques and devices. First, a character who leads a narrative in the novel is Tianqing, but is Judou in the movie. This movement of the central figure is associated with the thematic consciousness of the movie. It took a look at how Tianqing’s sexual awareness and sexual desire of being seen in the novel are changed in the movie. Second, it analyzed the closed space in a dyeing factory, Tianqing’s sneaking a look at Judou, and the meaning of sunlight and backlight. Third, a narrative on feudal violence was inspected. Through ancestral shrine(祠堂) and color, the image of feudalism was searched. Through dyeing cloth, ‘coloring’ was clarified to metaphorize the injection of feudalism. Especially through a few devices that appear in the movie, Tianbai was confirmed to be a successor of feudalism. Fourth, it dealt with the violation of taboos, namely, incest and killing father(殺父). It examined what the meaning of killing father is that was committed by Tianbai, along with a taboo violation by Judou and Tianqing.
