국문 초록

모문룡(毛文龍)은 역사적으로 논란이 많았던 인물로 사료에 따르면 그가 오만하고 횡포하고 국가를 위한 아무것도 내지 못한 장군이며 부정적인 평가를 받고 있지만 명말 요동 정세의 중요한 인물임을 부인할 수 없다. 그러나 사료와는 달리 문학작품 속 모문룡은 긍정적인 면을 많이 갖고 있다. 문학적 가공과 역사 사실의 불일치는 상황은 작가의 의도에서 비롯된다. 예컨대 명나라 문인 육인룡(陸人龍)의 『요해단충록』과 조선인 홍익한(洪翼漢)의 『화포선생조천항해록』은 모두 모문룡의 금정적인 면에 먹칠을 많이 하고 있다. 그러나 두 작품에서 무게중심은 다른데, 두 작가는 창작 목적과 개인적 감정, 당시 사회적 여론과 시각에 따라 모문룡의 문학적 형상을 차별화하고 있다. 본문은 선행연구를 바탕으로 모문룡에 관한 사료를 정리하면서 문인의 창작과 역사적 기록을 구별하고, 두 작품에서 동일 인물의 다른 면을 부각시키는 데 중점을 두고 분석하였으며, 두 작품이 왜 동일 인물의 문학형상 창작에 이러한 차이를 발생시키는지에 대해 중점적으로 논하려고 한다. 역내(域內)와 역외(域外)의 시각과 결합해 자신의 한계를 뛰어넘고, 같은 인물에 대한 조·중 문인들의 창조를 통해 모문룡의 문학적 형상을 새롭게 조명하려고 한다.

영문 초록

Mao Wenlong is a controversial figure in history. In the historical records, he is insolent, deceitful and inaction, but there is no denying that he was an important figure in Liaodong situation at the end of Ming Dynasty. Contrary to historical sources, Mao Wenlong in most literary works shows positive images. The phenomenon of divergence between literary processing and historical facts is, of course, inseparable from the intention of literary writers. For example, both the Ming Dynasty scholar Lu Renlong's and the Korean Hong Ikhan's have a lot of ink on Mao Wenlong's positive image. However, the two works are different in emphasis, because of their creative purposes, personal feelings, public opinion and different perspectives, the two authors have different portrayal of Mao Wenlong. On the basis of previous studies, this paper distinguishes the literary creation from the historical records, and analyzes the different aspects of the same character in the two works. Combining the internal and external perspectives, Mao Wenlong's literary image is re-examined through the creation of the same figure by Chinese and Korean literati.
