국문 초록

최근 중국에서는 화교·화인 연구를 하나의 독자적인 학문 분야로 인정할지 고민할 정도로 양적인 성장을 했다. 중국과 인접 국가이면서도 ‘화교’ 문제에 있어서만큼은 제삼자의 입장을 견지하고 있었던 한국에서도 최근 들어 사학계와 중국학계는 물론 다양한 분야에서 화교 연구에 관심을 기울이고 있다. 국내에서 ‘화교 및 화인’과 관련된 연구성과는 1990년대 이후 경제를 중심으로 관심을 끌기 시작해 지금은 인문사회과학 전 분야에서 학제 간 연구가 진행되고 있다. 특히, 2000년대 이후 한국 사회가 새롭게 도래한 다문화사회에 관심을 기울이기 시작하면서 그동안 주목받지 못했던 재한외국인문제가 새로운 연구주제로 떠오르고 있다. 그중에서도 가장 오래된 외국계 인구(구화교)이자 가장 많은 이주민(신화교)을 구성하고 있는 ‘한국화교(韓華)’에 대한 관심이 증폭되고 있다. 아울러, 국내 학계에서도 화교 연구자라고 할 수 있는 전문연구진들이 양성되어 한국의 화교연구도 양적인 성장을 거듭하고 있다. 이에 그동안 국내 학계의 화교 관련 연구를 정량적으로 분석하여 지식지형도를 비롯한 시각화 작업을 통해 그동안의 연구성과를 가시적으로 도출하고자 한다. 또한, 중국학계의 연구현황과 비교의 관점에서 국내 화교연구의 특징을 살펴보고자 한다.

영문 초록

In China, research related to ‘Overseas Chinese’ has grown quantitatively enough to consider whether to recognize it as an independent academic field. However, even in Korea, which was a neighboring country to China but maintained a third party's position on the issue of “Overseas Chinese,” it has recently been paying attention to Overseas Chinese research in various fields as well as historiography and sinology. Research results related to “Overseas Chinese” in Korea began to attract attention mainly from the economy after the 1990s, and now interdisciplinary research is being conducted in various fields. In particular, as Korean society began to pay attention to the multicultural society since the 2000s, the issue of foreigners in Korea, which has not been noticed, is being studied in each field, and interest in “Korean Chinese” is increasing. Therefore, we intend to quantitatively analyze the research results related to Overseas Chinese in the domestic academic world and visually derive the research results so far through visualization work, including knowledge topography. In addition, I would like to examine the characteristics of domestic Overseas Chinese research from the perspective of comparison with the research status of Chinese academia.
