『투쯔창 혼자만의 슬픔』에 나타난 중국 청년의 빈곤화 과정

국문 초록

이 글은 팡팡(方方)의 소설『투쯔창 혼자만의 슬픔(塗自強的個人悲傷)』(2013)을 중심으로, 대입을 통해 도시로 진출한 가난한 농촌 청년의 비극적 운명을 고찰하였다. 농촌이라는 주변 공간에서 도시 저층으로 추락하는 그의 빈곤화 과정은 중국의 평범한 청년 ‘베이퍄오’의 현실을 담고 있다. 이러한 투쯔창의 비극은 한 개인이 아닌 시대의 비극으로, 21세기에 부상한 차이나드림 즉, ‘중국몽’ 실패의 문화 징후이자, 개혁개방 초기 도시와 농촌의 교차지대에 서 있던 그의 선배 ‘가오자린’들의 끝나지 않은 좌절이기도 하다. 따라서 본고는 그의 삶의 궤적을 대학 재학기간과 졸업 후 사회인의 삶 두 시기로 나누고, ‘가난’을 키워드로 경제적 결핍부터 사회적 소외에 이르기까지 신자유주의 시대 중국 청년빈곤의 일단을 살펴보는 한편, 투쯔창 형상의 원형을 탄생시킨 루야오(路遙)의『인생』(1982) 속 ‘가오자린’을 참조대상으로 하여, 두 시대와 두 청년의 좌절을 비교 고찰하였다.

영문 초록

Focusing on Fang Fang's novel “Tu Ziqiang's personal sadness(塗自強的個人悲傷)”, this paper examines the tragic “fate” of Chinese rural youths. Tu Ziqiang(塗自強)'s tragedy is the cultural symptom of the failure of the “Chinese Dream” rising in the 21st century. At the same time, it is the unfinished defeat of the “Gao JiaLin(高加林)” who stood at the intersection of urban and rural areas in the early 1980s. Therefore, this paper comprehensively analyzes the tragedy of Tu Ziqiang, China's rural educated youth as the two perspectives of synchronicity and Diachronicity from the period of Reform and Opening Up in China to the era of neoliberalism. From a synchronic point of view, his life is divided into two periods: during school and after graduation as a social person. With the keyword “poverty,” we looked at the problem of Chinese youth in the era of neoliberalism in terms of social structure from economic deficiency to social alienation. At the same time, this paper compared and examined the frustrations of the two eras and the two young men by referring to Lu Yao's novel “The Life”(1982) which first raised the issue of “the Rural Educated Youth” and their difficulties in Chinese literary circles. They are representations of young people reflecting certain Chinese times, and will help to comprehensively understand the “fate” of rural educated youth in China's specific social and historical context.
