국문 초록

본고의 목적은 사회적 구성주의와 Radford의 대상화 이론을 비교하여 수학교육에서 논의되는사회적 상호작용의 의미를 명료히 하는 것이다. 사회적 구성주의와 대상화 이론은 학습자의 수학 인식에서 사회적 상호작용의 중요성을 강조한다는 공통점을 갖는다. 하지만 각 이론의 존재론적/인식론적 입장에서 개인, 타인, 사회라는 용어는 서로 다른 의미로 규정되고 있으며, 이러한 점은 두 이론에서 강조하는 사회적 상호작용이 상호 구별될 수 있음을 시사하고 있다. 본 연구는 두 이론의 존재론적/인식론적 관점을 서로 비교하여 각 관점이 사회적 상호작용의 의미를어떻게 규정하고 있는지, 그로부터 어떠한 수학교육적 함의를 도출하고 있는지를 밝히고자 한다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this paper is to make clear the meaning of social interaction discussed in mathematics education by comparing social constructivism with Radford's the theory of objectification. Social constructivism and the theory of objectification have in common the emphasis on the importance of social interaction in learners' mathematical cognition. However, from the ontological/epistemological viewpoints of each theory, the terms individuals, others, and society are defined in different meanings, suggesting that the term social interactions highlighted in the two theories can be distinct. This study tries to compare the ontological/epistemological perspectives of the two theories to reveal how each view defines the meaning of social interaction and what mathematical implications it derives from them.
