조선 후기 산학서에 수록된 망해도술(望海島術)의 내용 분석 및 수학교육적 활용 방안

국문 초록

수학사 관련 연구가 지속적으로 진행되고 있음에도 불구하고 학교 현장에서 교사가 활용할 수 있는 수학사를 활용한 구체적이고 실질적인 자료는 아직 미미한 수준이며, 수학사를 활용한 교과서 수록 내용 또한 교육과정상의 내용과 밀접한 관련을 가진 경우가 다소 부족한 실정이다. 본 연구에서는 조선 전기 대표적 산학서인 양휘산법, 산학계몽, 상명산법과 조선 후기 산학서 7권(묵사집산법, 주서관견, 구수략, 구일집, 산학입문, 주해수용, 측량도해) 및 성호전집에 공통으로 수록된 망해도술(望海島術) 관련 문항을 분석하고 이를 교과서와 학교 현장에서 활용할 수 있는 방안을 탐색하였다. 단순한 수학사의 소개를 넘어 우리 전통 수학과 관련한 다양한 수학적 소재를 찾고 그 안에 내재된 수학적 아이디어를 현대의 수학으로 재해석하여 교실수업에서 적용 가능한 구체적이고 실질적인 사례를 제시하였다.

영문 초록

Despite the continuing progress of the research on mathematical history, it is the case that detailed and substantive data regarding the mathematical history to be available to teachers in the school field are still considered to be lacking. Also, there is a dearth of associated information that exists regarding the contents of mathematical-history textbook contents that are closely related to substantive curriculum contents. In this study, we reviewed and analyzed the related questions regarding the Height Measurement of Island that is commonly recorded in the representative works of the early Chosun dynasty(YangHui SuanFa, Suanxue Qimeng and XiangMing SuanFa); the seven mathematics books of the late Chosun dynasty(MuksaJipSanBup, JuSoeGwanGyeon, GuSuRyak, GuIlJip, SanHakYibMun, JuHaeSuYong and CheukRyangDoHae) and Sungho Complete Works. We explored methods to utilize this measurement in textbooks and at school sites. Based on these identified issues and analysis results, and beyond introducing simple mathematical history, we founded subsequent important and noteworthy various mathematical materials that are related to our traditional mathematics and reinterpreted the embedded mathematical ideas into modern mathematics, thereby presenting real and practical examples that can be applied for the enhancement of in the class setting.
